10 Years of Whirling Dervish and a history with Sasha that goes back even further.
For more than three decades, Sasha has challenged what electronic music can sound and feel like. Pioneer in DJing, producing, and composing.
His connection with us goes back to 1998.
Before Whirling Dervish, there was Roofless Productions.
On September 26, 1998, Sasha and John Digweed played together in Denver at The Moon - a DIY party that brought the underground community together.
Almost three decades later, a piece of that night still exists.
Recovered from the archives, this recording captures Sasha’s sound at The Moon, before the legendary mix albums, the global tours, and everything that followed.
Sasha and John Digweed shared a musical language that changed how people experienced progressive house.
Their story took them around the world, but one of the early chapters happened right here in Denver.
Today, we still celebrate the connection that started that night.
Sasha kept coming back. Over the years, he returned to Denver with John Digweed, on his own, and in new combinations, building a relationship with the city and with Whirling Dervish along the way.
Different nights, different lineups, always the same connection.
We launched posters, artworks, and merch around Sasha’s shows.
Small pieces from different chapters of the story, still sitting in the archive today.
The flyers have changed. The rooms have changed. The technology has changed. But Sasha is still part of the Whirling Dervish story, now returning for our 10th anniversary.
