Sometimes the idea for a video finds you while you’re standing there with the camera.
This was definitely one of those times. 😂
One Friday night at Tetra my homie JJ gets up for karaoke and starts singing “Eat It” by Weird Al.
Now I grew up with this song, so immediately it took me back. But while I’m watching JJ perform, I’m also thinking about the footage I had of Royce doing his thing making pizzas for St. Tony’s Pizza Pop Up.
And my brain just went…
Oh yeah. I know what I’m doing with this. 😂🍕
So I broke out the camera and started filming JJ.
That’s one of my favorite things about being behind a camera. Sometimes I’m not looking for a story at all. Something happens in front of me, sparks a memory or an idea, and suddenly I can see how these completely separate moments could live together.
JJ singing.
Royce making pizza.
A Weird Al song I remember from being a kid.
And somehow it all made sense. 😂
Looking back through my footage from Tetra has reminded me just how many random, funny, creative nights happened in that space — and how many times the people around me unknowingly gave me an idea just by being themselves.
JJ definitely gave me one that night.
And shoutout to Royce and JJ for St. Tony’s because those pizzas were ALWAYS hitting. 🍕🔥
Just another night I was lucky enough to have my camera with me.
🎥 A little life through my lens.
