I want to share a personal story that has deeply shaped the direction of my shop.
Recently, I had a customer I wasn’t able to help with funeral flowers. Not being able to help her say goodbye broke my heart.
Then, I spent 20 days at a hospital in Indianapolis with my mom as she fought for her life. I refused to leave her side, surviving on little sleep, and I found myself thinking about flowers as a way to cope with the grief and sadness we faced as a family.
One morning, while grabbing a hard-earned coffee in a hospital waiting area, I noticed a single daffodil on a table. It was snowing like crazy outside. I knew instantly it was a gentle sign from my Grama Betty—our little secret, the daffodil, connecting generations of love and resilience. In that moment, I felt hope. My mom, the incredible fighter she is, came through—scarred, yes, but healthy.
While waiting through surgeries, I watched bouquets brighten the room. I even took to caring for the bouquets that were left behind. It reminded me why flowers matter—they carry love, comfort, and memory in ways words sometimes cannot.
As I rebuild and restock, my focus is shifting to what truly matters most to me: sympathy flowers and memorial silks. My goal is to open toward the end of October, pending final paperwork and a few last details.
I have missed being a part of your lives. I’ve missed it so much it hurt. Seeing flowers again, in all their quiet power, reminds me of why I do this.
