🍂🧡 AUTUMN, BUT MAKE IT BOLD! 💜🎃

An organic crescent with a little autumn attitude! This birthday beauty is bringing ALL the color, texture, and Halloween spirit.

Meet Orange Crown, the new rose that’s been sneaking its way into so many of my designs lately. 🌹🧡 It’s pulling me into a color palette I wouldn’t normally reach for, and honestly? I’m loving the adventure!

Add those electric purple phalaenopsis orchids, and suddenly we’re talking bold, unexpected, and definitely giving us a little fall is coming! energy. 🎃💜

Then pile on the locally grown dahlias, amaranthus, dianthus, and all those delicious textures that make an organic crescent so much fun to create.

Who says autumn has to be all rust, gold, and brown? Not around here! We’re playing with color, breaking a few rules, and letting the flowers lead the way. 😉

💙🧡 Masculine. Modern. A little unexpected. And definitely NOT boring!

Every year, I get the fun challenge of creating a birthday design for Dirk, and I LOVE it! 🙌

This year, we’re playing with strong lines, unexpected textures, and a little color pop.

🌿 Sansevieria threaded with flexi grass creates those long, architectural lines, while globe thistle pulls your eye downward into the wild, spiky texture of pincushion protea.

Then we send your eyes soaring back up with gorgeous, locally grown dahlias before finishing with light blue delphinium reaching toward the sky. 💙

And those little loops of grass? Just a little playful movement to keep things interesting!

Who says flowers for the guys have to be boring green plants or a bunch of red roses? 😏

At Flora Elements, we love a challenge. Give us a person, a personality, and a birthday, and let’s create something completely unexpected!

Absolutely—this is such a sweet way to make the bouquet part of the big reveal! 💕 Here’s a version with that fun Flora Elements storytelling feel:

💗 THIS BOUQUET HAS A SECRET! 💗

What a fabulous idea from my customer for a baby shower + gender reveal!

Instead of cutting into a cake or opening a box, Dad-to-be is going to make his grand entrance carrying this gorgeous hand-tied bouquet. And when he walks in… all those beautiful shades of pink will do the talking. 🌸💕

Because there’s a LITTLE GIRL on the way! 🎀👶🏼

We filled this bouquet with as many gorgeous pink variations as we could find—different flowers, textures, shapes and shades, from soft blush to bright, happy pinks. Because if you’re going to announce a baby girl, why settle for ONE pink when you can have ALL the pinks?! 😂

I absolutely LOVE when customers bring me a creative idea and say, “Can we do this?”

YES. YES, WE CAN. 😍

Congratulations to this growing family and their soon-to-be little flower girl! 🌸🎀

And Dad… you have ONE very important job: walk in, hold the bouquet, and watch everyone figure it out. 😂💗

💔 Heartbreak comes in all forms.

Your first crush who doesn’t feel the same way. A relationship ending. Ordering a big fancy cake only to discover it tastes like dry sand mixed with sugar that will rot your teeth. 😂

And then there’s flower shop heartbreak.

This particular arrangement always breaks my heart when it pops up in my memories.

Six years ago, someone finally clicked THAT BUTTON:

“Designer’s Custom Bouquet.”

OMG. I was jumping out of my skin excited! Someone trusted me to create whatever I wanted. No recipe. No picture. Just DESIGN.

So I worked on it for HOURS. I arrived early to pack it, carefully loaded it into my driver’s trunk, and waited impatiently for her return.

She walked in like it was a normal day.

“Well?”

“Oh… that’s different.”

💔

Then the phone rang.

My assistant answered, made that face, and handed it to me.

I got screamed at over a FREE certificate that was going to expire in a few days. I was apparently a terrible business person and her son would be heartbroken.

I was speechless.

IT WAS FREE. 😂

I found another one in my drawer that had a later date and sent it off.

And the flowers?

Never mentioned.

Fast forward a couple weeks.

That number pops up again.

Oh boy. Here we go.

She asked if I wanted the structure back or she was throwing it in the trash.

YES, PLEASE! I had a fundraiser I could reuse it for.

I picked it up the next morning.

The insults started the second the door opened.

It drips. The flowers shed. It’s weird. It’s unusual. It’s too big for her coffee table.

Okay… thanks. I’ll be going now.

I remade the design for an auction benefiting a great cause. And if my friend hadn’t kept bidding it up, I probably would have cried.

There is NOTHING more heartbreaking than watching a design valued at $500+ get bids of:

“What do you think… $75?”

Meanwhile, you’re thinking, This cause probably needs $5,000 per person. 🤦‍♀️

So yes… this piece still breaks my heart.

Sometimes people just don't see what you see or appreciate floral art.

✨🎂 When the birthday boy works in the creative industry… you can’t just make a bouquet. You have to make ART. 🎂✨

His good friend found a photo of a design she loved from a completely different year and season and asked if we could create a little magic of our own.

So… we gave it the Flora Elements magic-wand BOOP 🪄✨ and went straight into the cooler to find some seriously fun stuff!

We played with mini callas, amaranthus, dahlias, celosia, stock, lisianthus, our favorite ranunculus, and fabulous Phalaenopsis orchids. 💜🧡🩷

And because apparently that wasn’t enough dazzle… I went outside, cut some Malabar spinach vine, and intentionally entangled it throughout the design. Because sometimes the perfect finishing touch is the thing that makes absolutely no sense until it suddenly makes perfect sense. 😉

Creative birthday flowers for a creative guy.
A little unexpected. A little wild. A LOT of personality.

And definitely not your everyday birthday bouquet. 🌸✨

A beautiful way to honor a beautiful life. 💗

In Remembrance pairs a lush, garden-inspired floral design with a decorative tray and a lantern keepsake—something meaningful that can remain in the home long after the flowers have faded.

We filled this design with locally grown flowers, including a very special showstopper: a brand-new dahlia variety bred right here by grower Lisa. 🌸 Watching a flower someone bred make its way into a remembrance piece like this is pretty special.

The lantern adds a little more than decoration. It represents the light that remains—the love, memories, and moments that never really leave us.

Mom’s love and light will keep shining. 🕯️💗

Today is a little extra special in the Flora Elements world. 🤍✨

A while back, I had the absolute pleasure of creating flowers for a photoshoot with Paige, and I still remember her gushing over the bouquets. I’m always a little shy when someone compliments my work (taking compliments is NOT my strong suit 😂) because honestly, I love the flowers just as much as the people who receive them.

But then Paige said the words every florist dreams of hearing:

“When I get married, I want you to do my flowers.” 🥹💐

And then… that phone call actually came. And that message. And months of planning, color conversations, rose variety hunting, flower wish lists, and trying to get our hands on that perfect rose. Some varieties we’re still sniffling over because they simply weren’t available.

But thankfully, I have another Lisa in my corner. 💕 My fabulous flower farmer came through with ALL the color and ruffles we needed, with so many beautiful tints of pink that our favorite rose won’t even be missed today.

And now the day is HERE. 🥂🌸

There are loads of photos to come, but for now, we just want to wish Paige & Tanner the most beautiful, joyful, flower-filled wedding day.

Thank you, Paige, for trusting me with the flowers you dreamed about long before your wedding day was here. That truly is the biggest compliment of all. 🤍

One Year Later 🤍🌿

How is it possible that it has already been a year since Chateau in Bloom?!

Looking back at this beautiful day, I’m reminded of what happens when an incredibly talented team comes together with a shared vision and plenty of room for creativity. The European-inspired setting, the lush grape vines, the thoughtful details, and of course, the florals made this one of those projects that stays with you long after the flowers are gone.

For me, the best part wasn’t just seeing the final images—it was the process. Working alongside such talented vendors, watching everyone bring their own artistry to the table, and seeing all those individual pieces become one beautiful story.

A year later, I’m still wondering if I was walking in the clouds ⛅️?

So grateful to have been part of Chateau in Bloom and to have created alongside such an amazing team. Some shoots are beautiful… and some just feel a little magical. ✨

Lincoln has taken a liking to this space this summer. He can watch the door, keep an eye on me, and the floor is nice and cool. Today I caught him giving Buddha kisses. I'm kinda jealous to be honest as I never get kisses, but a statue gets them?

I live with the strangest rabbit!
