What if you could help shape the start of San Diego’s summer? What genres of music, dance, or shows would make the San Diego County Fair the best yet? What traditions do want to continue—or see evolve?

Your response to our short survey will help shape the Fair’s programming, customer service, and operations next year. This is your moment to share your favorite music and entertainment, what you’d love to see more (or less) of, and your biggest Fair wishes.

As a thank you, we’re giving free admission tickets to next year’s Fair to 100 respondents to be selected at random on August 15.

The San Diego County Fair has been around since 1880, and to continue serving as the place where summer starts in San Diego, we’d love to hear more from you to help us grow and improve.

On Saturday morning at The Sound, we welcomed hundreds of temporary employees — who will help us put on this year’s San Diego County Fair — for an in-person orientation! Thanks to Peterson’s Donut Corner for providing some sweet treats for our 2025 team. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Fair this summer, June 11-July 6 (except Mondays and Tuesdays)!

The San Diego County Fair's Plant*Grow*Eat program welcomed thousands of elementary students to The Farm at the Fairgrounds May 12-16. Plant*Grow*Eat teaches kids about the connection between agriculture, food and nutrition.

The Don Diego Scholarship Foundation coordinated bus transportation for thirty-two busloads of elementary students from Title 1 schools, supported by the Del Mar Foundation, Del Mar Garden Club and the Master Gardener Association of San Diego County.

Students enjoyed learning at this hands-on outdoor classroom with goats, bees, bugs and a bounty of vegetables, fruits and flowers! 🌻🍊🐐🥕🐝

TRAFFIC ALERT - FOODIELAND: We are seeing congestion near Jimmy Durante Boulevard and Via de la Valle due to city pothole repairs. Crews inform us they expect to be finished by 3 p.m. Saturday. We are now working to help move traffic as safely and efficiently as possible. We are anticipating large crowds today for FoodieLand - San Diego, and we ask for your patience as this work is completed.

While general admission of Fair guests' pets is not permitted to ensure the safety of pets and humans, we do have a number of ways for you to celebrate and interact with pets this summer at the San Diego County Fair. We also have a morning set aside, before the Fair opens, for you to take your dog on a walk around the Fairgrounds!

The San Diego County Fair this year aims to be a “Summer Pet-tacular.”

"We also understand that we are more than an events center to San Diegans: We are San Diego County's iconic community gathering place, a hub for economic opportunities, and stewards of our sensitive coastal ecosystem. We have been here at the Fairgrounds for nearly a century. Through Fairgrounds 2050, we can ensure that 25, 50, and 100 years from now and beyond, we continue to provide a thriving, innovative, and fun place in times of celebration -- and a place where people can turn to in their times of need."

The owner and operator of the Del Mar Fairgrounds has launched a public outreach campaign to solicit input from local governments and county residents regarding the Fairgrounds' future.

Those impacted by the Southern California wildfires remain in our thoughts today, but we do have some good news to share amid everything: More than 220 horses — and their caretakers — that evacuated from the San Luis Rey Training Center are heading back home now that the Lilac Fire is nearly completely contained.

We were proud to work with Del Mar Racing, which took the lead on sheltering people and animals at the Fairgrounds. We are grateful to the brave firefighters who got the blaze under control and continue to keep our region safe. And we are always ready to serve our community in both times of celebration and times of need.
