Congratulations to our friends at Burritoville for receiving a grant from the City of DeKalb in the amount of $17,400. Rudy and his Family are such good people and their food is delicious! A true credit to DeKalb!

Thank you for being supportive of WCPW®! We appreciate you and are very happy for you!

Burritoville Dekalb

The DeKalb City Council is supporting a long-standing family business in the Annie Glidden North neighborhood.

The Council, on Monday, awarded an Architectural Improvement Economic Incentive for $17,500 to Burritoville at 1026 W. Hillcrest Dr. The incentive will help the owners, Blanca and Rodolfo Galvan, make roof repairs, perform signage and façade work and replace two air conditioners.

“I’m super excited that we’re going to be able to make these changes,” said First Ward Alderwoman Carolyn Zasada. “I think it’ll be transformative.”

The incentive comes from the City’s Fund 400 program, which was created to offer assistance for building projects outside of the TIF districts. This was the second straight Council meeting a Fund 400 grant was awarded to a business in Annie Glidden North. At its July 28 meeting, the Council supported a grant for a new business, Big O’s Barbecue.

Despite only having a very brief cup of coffee in WCPW®, we have admired this multi-talented entertainer from afar and been one of her biggest fans since she graced us with her presence in a WCPW® ring.

Congratulations to Leila Grey on her debut album! We're very proud of you and happy for you!

A moment to discuss the WCPW® LJN Style Figurines!

One of our customers offered the criticism that our "boxes are too big" and told us to use smaller plastic boxes in the future.

I think what gets lost on people, since we do make our company seem "larger than life" with great production and wrestlers that look like the muscle bound stars that you see on television, is the fact that we are a small independent company. We do the best we can with what we have.

We don't sell figures in bulk quantities that can be mass produced by manufacturing warehouses in China. Each figure has a mold created by hand, is individually sanded and patched of any imperfections in the mold/cast process, is individually hand painted, glossed by hand, and each box is designed on a home computer, printed at a local DeKalb printer, glued to a cardboard backing, and the display plastic boxes are bought from a company in China that only has set dimensions to purchase, then assembled and glued to the cardback. All of these steps done by the owner of WCPW® himself.

So believe us. Even a small criticism like "the box is too big", is taken to heart.

However, we'd like to compare our figurines to those of The Big Rubber Guys. A multi million dollar company with investors and a manufacturing plant in China that can vacuum form plastic to each individual figure and mass produce them on an assembly line.

We think our figurines compare well and look like a professionally produced product. As far as our boxes are concerned, as you can see by the picture, our plastic box is only 1/2 inch taller and 1 inch wider front to back. We think that is as close as we're going to get without a warehouse with heavy machinery that can vacuum form each box individually.

We thank you for taking the time to read about our process and hope this information sheds some light on some things for our fans and customers.

See you at the next show.
