Seven of our Class 3 officials who officiated the Paulding GMC Biddy tournament yesterday! We have several more not in the photo and they are all making progress towards becoming great officials in the future!

Clark Forward was two overtime losses away from becoming Ohio’s first and only undefeated 4x state champion.

Clark wrestled at Archbold High School for his father, Chuck Forward, who was inducted into the Ohio chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2018.

Forward entered the 1996 state tournament as an undefeated freshman and met up with Joe Creech from West Milton Union in the finals.

The match went to overtime, and Creech defeated Forward 4-3 in a hotly contested match.

Forward’s only other career loss came in his sophomore season against senior Mark Wentz of Streetsboro in overtime at the Top Gun tournament.

Forward then won his next 110 matches, finishing his career as a 3x State Champion.

He was one of the most prolific takedown artists in Ohio wrestling history.

Forward finished his high school career with a record of 170-2 and was named to the 1999 USA Wrestling Magazine’s High School Dream Team.

In college, Forward wrestled for the University of Michigan, where he was a 4-year letter winner and an NCAA qualifier.

Today, Clark Forward owns and operates his own wealth management firm, Forward Financial.
