Wise County’s favorite flavor-filled evening!

Wise County Clear the List was the most recent fundraiser held at DCC. We are proud to have been a part of the project aimed at putting funds into the hands of Wise County K-5 teachers to supply their classrooms. The school supplies featured in our decor will also be distributed to local teachers.

The spring school event season is over for DCC as students, teachers and staff continue the march toward commencement and summer break. We are proud to have played a part in end-of-year celebrations, especially those that asked us to handle their table decor.

We are so appreciative of our officers every day and particularly on this day set aside to honor those that made the ultimate sacrifice. We would normally lower our flags for the occasion, but, unfortunately, we have a flagpole that is malfunctioning and the repair service could not schedule us in time. Since it holds the City of Decatur flag which cannot be lowered due to the malfunction, we will not be lowering our flags today as it is inappropriate to fly any flag higher than the American flag. To the community, especially the families of fallen officers, please know that you and these officers are foremost on our minds today.

Every May 15th, we pause to honor the law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Established in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy, Peace Officer Memorial Day is a time for communities across the country to reflect on the bravery and sacrifice of those who serve and protect.

Here in our community, we remember the fallen not just as officers, but as neighbors, friends, and family. Their legacy lives on in the safety and unity they helped build.

💙 Today, we honor them. We thank them. And we stand with those who continue to serve.

Thanks to all of our families that joined us for Mother’s Day luncheon! We love seeing returning guests year after year, watching the little ones grow, and welcoming new friends to the fold. We hope to see you and yours next year!

It’s Derby week and we love a theme party around here! The Rotary Club of Decatur Texas enjoyed some traditional derby fare such as pimiento cheese and Kentucky Hot Browns.

Mother's Day is a big deal here at DCC! Our culinary team pulls out all the stops. This year we will have a few new menu items along with old favorites. We'll also have live music.

The flags at Decatur Conference Center and across our great nation are lower to half-staff today by order of President Trump as a mark of respect for the memory of His Holiness Pope Francis (1936-2025). Flags will remain lowered until sunset on the day of interment.

Flags at DCC and across the great State of Texas are lowered by order of Governor Abbott to honor the life and public service of Carole Keeton Strayhorn who died Wednesday, March 26.

Strayhorn was notable for several firsts in Austin and Texas politics. She was the first woman elected as mayor of Austin and the first Austin mayor elected to three consecutive terms. She was the first woman elected to the Texas Railroad Commission and the first woman elected as state comptroller. She also was the first woman to serve as president of the Austin school board and as president of the Austin Community College board.

Flags will remain at half-staff until tomorrow evening.
