Does this picture pop out at you? Give you a moment of awe? I’m guessing most likely not. It doesn’t do it for me either.
🌸
While walking with a friend, down a local street I hadn’t traveled upon, even though it’s less than a mile from my house, I stopped, backed up a few steps and said, “I love the way that looks. It’s so inviting. The trees…”
🌸
So you might be thinking…really Marnie. I can’t explain it…it was a moment and place that caught my attention…gave me a beautiful feeling. A beautiful feeling that two weeks later, which makes it two days ago, I felt compelled to take this picture. I hopped in the car, drove the mile and snapped this picture. I had the same feelings as when I first stood there, but man, this picture does it no justice.
🌸
I’ve come to the conclusion that less is more when it comes to pictures. I plan to take more time enjoying my showstopper moments by letting my senses take all of it in, rather than my finger moving to snap a picture.
🌸
So why do I choose to share this here on MMF? Well, it makes me think of flowers and how they can truly and fully only be embraced and cherished in person. The colors, the depth, the texture, the scent and then of course the changes as the flower nears its completed lifecycle. This can only be witnessed in the present moment, in real time.
🌸
Flowers in a vase have limited time to be bright and upright. They are on the decline as they stand showing off their curves of happiness. Those who put them in a vase, or receive them from a cherished one, know it’s a temporary gift. A gift that breaks open the running of time to invite in the pause.
🌸
If you or someone you know could use some moments to be awakened from the mundane, make sure you plan to stop by my porch this Saturday morning. Pictures will be posted Friday night…oh my, which is tomorrow.
🌸
I feel compelled to share what transpired after taking this picture. I’m not sure how it happened, it was as if my car directed itself. I ended up in a cereal aisle and before I knew it, I was back home finishing my fifth bowl of Lucky Charms. My only logical conclusion is that my body craved to have my insides just as colorful and magical as it felt standing looking up this alley.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!🌸😝🌸
