A lakeside evening to remember.

Bridget & Tyler’s rehearsal dinner and welcome party at The Waters was the perfect start to an unforgettable wedding weekend. Guests gathered on the screened porch overlooking the water for an intimate dinner featuring specialty lace Nuage linens, florals from House of Flowers displayed in the bride’s own collection of bud vases, and meaningful moments shared with their closest family and friends.

Following dinner, the celebration continued with a welcome party, giving the couple the opportunity to spend time with guests who had traveled near and far before the wedding festivities officially began. With the photographer capturing sunset portraits along the waterfront, every detail came together beautifully for a relaxed and heartfelt evening.

A reminder that some of the most memorable moments of a wedding weekend happen before the wedding day itself.

From the custom checkered dance floor to the pottery centerpieces, specialty linens, and every carefully curated touch in between, Bridget and Tyler’s wedding at The Paine Art Center and Gardens was a true reflection of who they are as a couple.

As high school sweethearts, their story spans years of growing up together, and that history was felt in every moment of the day. One year ago this Memorial Day weekend, these two did things their own way, and I wouldn’t have expected anything less.

From their effortlessly cool style to grabbing their longboards and heading out for portraits, their wedding day felt completely authentic to who they are. Every detail reflected their personalities, and the result was a celebration that was equal parts meaningful, fun, and unforgettable.

There’s something about a wedding flat lay that tells the story before the day even begins. The textures, the paper goods, the heirloom details, the jewelry, the florals, every piece intentionally chosen and thoughtfully layered together to reflect the couple and the celebration they created.

Mother’s Day feels a little different when you look back on your own wedding photos and realize just how many women helped shape your story.

Today I’m thinking about my mom, my stepmom, my mother-in-law, and getting to experience my wedding day as a mother myself with my son by my side. These photos hold so much more than pretty moments. They hold generations of love, support, guidance, and family.

One of my favorite parts of weddings is watching the quiet in-between moments unfold: the hugs before walking down the aisle, the proud smiles from across the room, the tears during a first look with mom, the way children watch everything with wonder. Those are the moments that stay with you.
To all the moms, bonus moms, mother-in-laws, grandmothers, and mother figures, thank you for the love you pour into your families every single day.

There’s something so special about the quiet moments on a wedding day, like a mother helping zip up the dress she once dreamed her daughter would wear.

This week, as we celebrate Mother’s Day, I’m thinking about all of the moms who pour so much love into these moments. The ones fixing veils, holding back tears, calming nerves, and soaking in every second of the day they’ve been imagining for years.

Weddings aren’t just about two people getting married, they’re about families, generations, and the people who helped shape us into who we are.
