Can I tell you a secret? Almost every woman who books a session tells me some version of this:

"I'm awkward."
"I'm not photogenic."
"I don't know what to do with my hands."
"I'm going to be terrible at this."

And almost every single time, they're wrong.

You know why? Because posing isn't your job. It's mine.

You don't need modeling experience.
You don't need to know your angles.
You don't need to memorize poses from Pinterest.

You simply need to show up. I guide everything.

From where your hands go...
To where your eyes look...
To how you stand...
To how you breathe.

Some of my favorite images have come from women who were absolutely convinced they would be awkward the entire time.

Usually by the end of the session they're laughing, joking, and asking, "Wait... that's really me?" Yes. It is.

The truth is, you don't need confidence to start. You just need enough courage to show up.

What's something you've talked yourself out of because you thought you'd be bad at it? And tag a friend who always says, "I'm awkward" but secretly deserves a confidence boost.

One of the biggest misconceptions about bo***ir is that you walk into the studio and immediately have to be in front of a camera. That's not how it works here.

In fact, your session starts with one of my clients' favorite parts of the entire experience: hair and makeup.

You get to sit down.
Take a breath.
Drink your coffee.
Chat.
Laugh.
Tell us about your kids, your job, your vacation plans, or the reason you decided to finally book a session.

There's no pressure to perform.
No pressure to know how to pose.
No pressure to show up feeling confident.

The hair and makeup chair becomes a transition space. You arrive as the woman carrying the weight of everyday life.

Then little by little, you begin shifting into someone who is focusing on herself for a change.

By the time we finish, most women tell me they're already feeling more relaxed, excited, and ready than they ever expected.

The best part? You still look like YOU. Just polished, pampered, and reminded that you deserve a little luxury too.

Tell me—if someone handed you a free day of pampering tomorrow, what's the very first thing you'd do? And tag a friend who desperately deserves a self-care day.

One thing you'll learn about me pretty quickly is that I love summer. Not because everything slows down... because let's be real, life rarely does.

I love summer because it feels like permission.

Permission to sit outside a little longer.
Permission to ride my e-bike.
Permission to spend time at the campground, lake, and pool.
Permission to gather around a fire with family and friends.
Permission to make memories instead of checking things off a to-do list.

As I've gotten older, I've realized the moments I treasure most aren't the perfectly planned ones.

They're the random conversations.
The laughter that makes your stomach hurt.
The ordinary days that somehow become the memories you never forget.

Those moments are also why photographs matter so much. Years from now, it won't be the laundry or the emails you'll remember.

It'll be the people.
The connection.
The feeling.

I'd love to know: What's one summer tradition you look forward to every single year? And tag someone you're hoping to make memories with this summer.

The night before her session, she almost cancelled. She stared at the confirmation email.

Opened it.
Closed it.
Opened it again.

She told herself all the things women often tell themselves:
"I'm too old."
"I don't photograph well."
"What was I thinking?"
"Maybe this isn't for someone like me."

But she showed up anyway.
Not because she suddenly felt confident.
Not because all her insecurities disappeared overnight.

She showed up because a small part of her hoped she was wrong about herself.

By the end of the session, she was laughing.
Standing taller.
Taking up space.

Looking at the back of the camera and saying:

"Wait... that's ME?" Yes. That was always you.

The confident woman wasn't created during the session. She was already there. Sometimes she just needs permission to come out.

Confidence doesn't arrive before you do something brave.
Confidence is often the result of doing the brave thing first.

Have you ever talked yourself out of something that ended up being one of the best decisions you ever made? Share your story below, and tag a friend who needs a little encouragement to do the scary thing she's been putting off.

One of the biggest things I hear from women before they book a bo***ir session is:

"I just need to lose 20 pounds first."

Or 10.
Or 30.

Or "let me get through summer."
Or "maybe after the holidays."

The truth? I've heard that same sentence from women of every age, every size, and every stage of life.

Here's what breaks my heart:
Many women spend years waiting to feel "ready."

Years waiting to hit a certain number on the scale.
Years waiting for confidence to magically show up.
And while they're waiting, life keeps moving.

The women you see in my portfolio weren't confident before they walked through my studio doors.

Most were nervous.
Many told me they hated having their picture taken.
Some almost cancelled.

What changed wasn't their weight.
What changed was seeing themselves through a different lens.

A bo***ir session isn't a reward for reaching a goal weight.
It's a chance to celebrate the woman you are right now.

The woman who has survived hard things.
The woman who has raised children.
The woman who has built a career.
The woman who has carried everyone else for years.

You deserve to be seen before the next milestone.
Not after.

Tell me honestly...
What's the biggest thing you've been waiting to do "after you lose weight"?

And if you know a woman who needs this reminder today, tag her below.

Almost every woman who walks into my studio says some version of:

“I have no idea how to pose.”
“I’m awkward in photos.”
“I’m nervous.”

And then this happens.

A little coaching.
A little encouragement.
A few small adjustments.

And suddenly the woman who walked in unsure starts seeing herself differently.

That confidence you see at the end?
That’s not because she magically became photogenic.
It’s because she stopped overthinking and allowed herself to be seen.

You do not need experience.
You do not need to know how to pose.
You do not need to “lose weight first.”

You just need someone who knows how to guide you every step of the way.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to finally do this… this is it.

Comment “READY” or send me a message and let’s start planning your session.

Love deserves to be celebrated.

Not just this month.
Not just when it's convenient.
Always.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of photographing incredible couples from all walks of life, and one thing remains true every single time:

The most beautiful images are never about gender.
They are never about fitting into a mold.
They are about connection.

The way someone looks at the person they love.
The comfort of being fully yourself.
The trust, laughter, intimacy, and story that exists between two people.

My studio has always been a space where you are welcome exactly as you are. A place where every person deserves to feel seen, respected, celebrated, and beautiful.

This Pride Month, I'm celebrating love in all its forms and the courage it takes to live authentically.

To every LGBTQ+ client who has trusted me with your story—thank you.

Happy Pride. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

People think I just take photos during a session.

Meanwhile I’m over here:
Giving you water.
Fixing your hair.
Adjusting every tiny detail.
Hyping you up nonstop.
Showing you how to pose.
Telling you that you look like an absolute badass.

Because bo***ir is so much more than pretty photos.

It’s an experience.
It’s having someone in your corner reminding you how powerful you actually are until you start believing it too.

By the end of the session, most clients walk out standing taller, laughing louder, and seeing themselves completely differently than when they walked in.

And honestly? That’s my favorite part.

If you’ve been nervous about booking because you think you’ll feel awkward or unsure… I promise you won’t be doing this alone.

Comment “ME” or send me a message and let’s start planning your session.

There is something so powerful about watching a woman see herself differently during her maternity session.

Not just as “mom.”
Not just as someone growing a baby.
But as beautiful. Strong. Soft. Radiant. Powerful.

Kate walked into the studio and fully trusted the process… and the result was pure magic.

When she left this review, it honestly meant the world to me:

“Absolutely one of the best experiences I have had especially in pregnancy. Dorothy and Cara were true professionals and so much fun to work with! Dorothy went above and beyond and made me feel like a pampered maternal goddess. Cannot recommend enough!!”

A pampered maternal goddess.

THAT is exactly how every woman deserves to feel during this season.

Pregnancy changes so much physically and emotionally, and my goal is never just to give you pretty photos. It is to create an experience where you feel cared for, celebrated, guided, and seen every step of the way.

You do not need to know how to pose.
You do not need to feel “camera ready.”
You just need to show up.

If you have been thinking about documenting this chapter before it passes, this is your sign.

Message me to start planning your maternity experience.
