The City of Dayton’s National Night Out celebration tour is set for Tuesday, August 5, 2025, as city leaders, along with police and fire personnel will visit four National Night Out events across Dayton.
“National Night Out” has been helping to build a sense of community for four decades. The special night happens on the first Tuesday in August and is celebrated across America, Canada, and in military installments worldwide.
National Night Out neighborhood celebrations have grown over the years from just ‘leaving a porch light on’ to much bigger events like block parties and cookouts which allow citizens, law enforcement, and local government leaders to interact in a positive environment, build community, and send a message that they are prepared to prevent crime in their neighborhoods.
Thank you to the Greater Dayton RTA for providing two busses that will be used to transport city leaders, along with police and fire personnel to each neighborhood event.
The Dayton Police Department will lead the Neighborhood Caravan Tour which will make stops at these National Night Out community events:
• 5:30 pm – Old North Dayton – Stuart Patterson Park, 238 Baltimore Street
• 6:00 pm – Linden Heights—The Glen—611 St. Joseph Avenue
• 6:30 pm – Westwood—Westwood Elementary—2805 Oakridge Drive
• 7:00 pm – Dayton View Triangle—Omega Campus—1816 Harvard Boulevard
