The old walnut came down yesterday. It’s going to take some getting used to that view.

Once it was down, we could see just how much of the inside was hollow. It was time, even if we weren’t quite ready.

We’ve saved the logs, and next comes the sawmill. Still a long way from its second life, but that retirement plan is officially underway. ❤️

This old walnut is enjoying one last wedding at Mary’s Meadow. 🌳

It’s been here a long time. It watched the old barn come down, the new barn go up, and plenty of couples start their lives together beneath its branches.

Unfortunately, it’s dying, and on Monday it has to come down. But we’re not quite ready to say goodbye to all of it.

We’ll save as much of the walnut as we can, put it on the sawmill, and give it a second life — maybe as a table, a bench, or something else that ends up in someone’s home.

Not a bad retirement plan for an old tree that’s seen a lot of life happen around it. ❤️

For generations, this farm has stood as a quiet reminder that some things are built to last—faith, family, hard work, and freedom.

On America’s 250th birthday, we’re grateful to live in a country where dreams can be pursued, traditions can be preserved, and new families can begin their own stories.

Thank you to every couple who has trusted us to be a small part of one of the most important days of your lives. It is an honor we will never take for granted.
