She asked me why I started drawing her first.
I told her: “Because his hair is going to need its own page.” 🤣

Sure enough, by the time I finished, his hair went right off the paper. Their reaction? Pure laughter — the best of the night.

I was at University of South Alabama’s Jagstravaganza 🐾, drawing Jaguars fans faster than they could say Go Jags!

My friend Jenni’s mom just happened to be at an event I drew at this summer!

Here’s the story: one of my longtime clients, Deborah, originally hired me for her granddaughter’s wedding. Sadly, the couple broke up before the big day. 💔 Deborah called me in tears, asking what could be done.

When I wrote my contract, I made sure to include a clause that allows clients to apply their retainer to another event if the original one doesn’t happen (as long as I’m not already booked). I just think it’s fair. So instead of losing out, we planned her birthday party with all her friends — and it turned into such a joyful celebration! 🎉

This video is one of her friends from that party. Funny how paths cross like that.

Not every entertainer offers that kind of flexibility — but I don’t believe in taking people’s money and giving nothing back. Deborah later wrote me the sweetest note: “Thank you, Kathy. You helped me turn lemons into lemonade.”Jenni Tarrantarrant I totally forgot to post this!

🥬 Here’s the piece I mentioned yesterday — reimagined as a fashion show illustration!

I created this for an event that wanted a live illustrator. With my fine art background, I can pretty much do it all. 🎨

There’s this misconception that artists only have one style. Truth is, most pros can adapt to whatever you need.

Painting motivational quotes on your fridge so you’ll finally stop buying kale you never eat? ✔️😂

☀️🎨 My last caricature night at the Beach Club for the summer — what a season it’s been! I’ve loved meeting families and couples from all over the world.

Last night I got to draw Courtney (our amazing supervisor) and her boyfriend Joachim, who’s from El Salvador. Since it was a rare slow evening, we had time to talk — and they showed me breathtaking photos from his country. Imagine sitting on a mesa with a volcano in front of you and clouds rolling below your feet. 😮🌋 Now El Salvador is officially on my bucket itioallt forgot to get their picture! courtneyjbulger

✨ Yesterday I had the pleasure of sketching at the Izenstone Bridal Show! Such a beautiful venue and such a great turnout — most of the brides who stopped by were planning their weddings right there at Izenstone. 💍

One fun moment I kept hearing over and over: “Wait… these double as favors?!”
Yes! Live caricatures aren’t just entertainment — your guests laugh, mingle, and then take home a keepsake they’ll actually treasure (not toss). 🎨💖
