Man I love sports so when I get to snap pics for a senior athlete, I get all the feels. I think about all the years putting in the work and effort and knowing for most that their sports careers are coming to a close. Some go on to play in college, intramural or even some Rec sports but for most of us, the jersey/suit/singlet/polo get hung up forever. I LOVED getting to watch Delton every Friday playing football while I was snapping pics on sidelines. He made some BIG plays this season and while he finished his football career as a STATE CHAMP, his real love is baseball so of course we had to snap some on the field. Glad that Delton humored me, answered my million questions and just went along with my hare brained thoughts and ideas. When I snap pics, I strive for real life as best as we can even though we are still kinda "posing". I want these seniors to look at their pics and go "Hey that IS ME! I do do those things!" I want to capture their quirks, mannerisms and those little facial expressions that maybe only their moms or dads notice. They might think I am crazy for what I ask them to do but most of time it works! I talk a lot and usually ask lots of questions during a session and while it is purposeful, I also just love to talk and hear peoples stories. Sometimes I leave a sesh full of emotions for these kids knowing it's almost over because I know how much sports can mean to all of us.
