Plein air painting at Tarrywile on July 8! What a steamy day, but several brave artists showed up to start some art. These might be finished indoors, it was just too hot. These, and more will be at the art show at Richter House in September. More news, paintings, and details to follow.

𝑰𝑻'𝑺 𝑶𝑷𝑬𝑵𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑵𝑰𝑮𝑯𝑻 𝑶𝑭 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑺𝑯𝑶𝑾, 𝒀'𝑨𝑳𝑳!

🌟 ON THIS NIGHT OF A THOUSAND STARS, join us for Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s blockbuster musical “Evita." The show opens tonight, Saturday July 5, and plays through July 19.

🎶 Featuring a live band, a cast of 43 talented local actors and an infectious pop score, performances take place outdoors under the stars Friday through Sunday evenings at 8:00 p.m. on the grounds of the Richter Arts Center, 100 Aunt Hack Road, in Danbury. Additional specially discounted performances are Thursday July 10 and 17.

🎉 ASL interpretation will be offered at the Sunday, July 13 performance.

🎟️ Grounds open at 7:00 p.m. for picnicking, with the show at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors (65+) and students (with ID) and $15 for children 10 and under. For the Thursday performances (July 10 and 17), tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and students, and $10 for children 10 and under. Limited front row VIP seating is also available for purchase at every performance.

🧺 Audience members are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for lawn seating. A limited number of chairs are available free of charge at the venue, and a cash-based snack/soft drink concession is on site.

Any artists out there wanting to paint plein air? Never tried it before? No problem. Bring a sketch pad, pencil, some watercolors or other media and observe your surrounding landscape and create your impression. Check out what the other artists are up to. Several art groups are sponsoring different locations. Richter Arts is Sponsoring Tarrywile Park on July 8. Artists may display their resulting works at Richter House, reception will be Sept 6, 2025, 3-6pm, to be viewed again on Sept 7, and 14, 2-3m.
Artists may drop off their works to the Richter House on Friday Sept 5, from 10am-1:00.

Check out new opportunities for artists with the Summer Plein Air Artists event on our website! Each of several Candlewood area art groups will sponsor a different location and date for plein air painting. All interested artists are invited to participate. The event will culminate in an art show of the resulting paintings at Richter House on Sept 6, with reception starting at 3pm. The show will run two Sundays, Sept 7 and 14 from 2-3 and artists will pick up their paintings at 4:30 on Sept 14.
More details to follow as to when the artists will bring their art to hang for the show.

Pianist Larry Ham will present a recital of his unique arrangements of classic jazz favorites, along with a few of his own compositions for piano at Richter House located on 100 Aunt Hack Rd. Danbury, CT. Reception following the concert, and meet the artist. Donation is much appreciated.

Three standing ovations! What a great performance at Richter House this afternoon. Soprano Kristen Plumley, Baritone Mathew Ciuffitelli, and Pianist David Maiullo! What at treat it was. Can't wait for their next performance!
