“I want to look like myself” doesn’t automatically mean “I want less makeup.”
Sometimes what you actually mean is: you still want coverage, you still want definition, and you still want to feel bridal. You just don’t want the makeup to become the first thing you notice about your face.
And this is where words like “natural” and “soft glam” can get confusing, because two brides can use the exact same words and be picturing completely different makeup.
So before your bridal preview, don’t only decide how much makeup you think you want. Decide what you want to still recognize.
Your skin? Your eye shape? Your brows? The way your face is naturally structured?
Then when you save inspiration, ask yourself:
“What is it about her makeup that still makes her look like her?”
That answer is often more useful to your artist than simply saying, “I just want natural makeup.”
