Stacking that paper…
System of a Down are currently sitting at No. 2 on Pollstar’s latest ranking of the world’s biggest concert tours by average box office gross.
According to the latest Global Concert Pulse data, SOAD are averaging an impressive $8.63 million in reported box office gross per city, with an average attendance of 61,274 fans and an average ticket price of $140.91. Only Colombian superstar Karol G currently ranks higher, averaging $9.25 million.
System of a Down are ahead of some of the biggest touring artists in the world, including Chris Brown and Usher, Bad Bunny, Luke Combs, Noah Kahan, Take That and Iron Maiden. There is another number that makes their current run even more impressive.
SOAD’s average attendance of 61,274 is actually the highest of any artist in Pollstar’s current Top 20.
Bad Bunny is averaging 57,265 tickets, Luke Combs 56,227 and Karol G 42,594. Iron Maiden, currently ranked No. 9 by average gross, are averaging 34,748.
Pollstar’s Global Concert Pulse ranks artists using reported box office data supplied by concert promoters and venue managers, with the ranking based on average gross rather than the total amount earned across an entire tour.
System of a Down’s position comes during another huge period for the band as they continue playing stadium-level shows despite not releasing a new studio album since Hypnotize in 2005.
More than 20 years without a new album, and they are still averaging over 61,000 people per show.
