The best time for headshots at a dinner event? Before the meal starts.
The best time for headshots at a dinner event? Before the meal starts.

For their Annual Commercial Meeting, Basic American Foods built headshots into a window that was already there — the time before dinner service began, not extra time added to the night.

Attendees signed up in advance through an online scheduler, so we knew exactly when to expect them.

Guests came through, got their headshot done, and were seated on schedule — no interruption once the meal started.

We captured over 40 headshots + team group photos before the night wrapped.

Eight hours sounds like a safe number of coverage — until you compare it to what’s actually on the agenda.

A keynote, two breakouts, an awards dinner and a closing reception don’t all need the same kind of coverage.

Some of it needs a photographer in the room the entire time.

Some of it just needs the important five minutes.

Booking hours before you’ve looked at the agenda usually means guessing.

Booking hours after you’ve looked at it means you’re paying for coverage that actually matches what’s happening.

Some people leave the game.

Others take everything the game taught them and invest it into people.

Spending time with former NFL linebacker turned motivational speaker Edgar Jones was a reminder that success isn’t always measured by what happens on the field. Sometimes the greatest impact begins after the final whistle.

His passion for serving others, developing leaders, and encouraging people to become the best version of themselves has created a legacy that reaches far beyond football. The platform may have changed, but the mission stayed the same: people first.

It’s always a privilege to photograph individuals whose purpose shines brighter than their résumé.
