What can the right fundraising ask accomplish? In this case, $200,000 in pledges.

At Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Denver’s Beacon of Hope Gala, the team hoped for a few major gifts, but they didn’t know of anyone planning to give at the $100,000 level.

During the event, Murad Auctions auctioneer Marty Murad introduced a different approach: $10,000 a year for 10 years.

Two donors said yes.

That creative ask resulted in two $100,000 commitments and an incredible outcome for the organization.

As Haylee Johnson, Director of Events, shared, they don’t believe those gifts would have happened without Marty as their auctioneer.

Sometimes fundraising success comes down to knowing how and when to make the ask.
