Looking for event sponsors? Your best opportunity may be closer than you think.

Many nonprofits focus on large corporate sponsors, but small businesses often bring something just as valuable: local relationships, community pride, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
Small business partnerships can help you:

Build stronger community connections
Reach loyal local customers
Create flexible sponsorship opportunities
Strengthen your sponsorship track record for future growth

The right sponsor isn't always a national brand. Sometimes it's the business owner right around the corner who believes in your mission and wants to help you succeed.

What local businesses have supported your organization in meaningful ways?

Could a simple donation scoreboard help your next fundraiser raise more money?

Many nonprofits hesitate to display a fundraising goal during an event because they're worried they won't reach it. But in this case, the opposite happened.

Within just two minutes of launching the donation scoreboard, attendees helped the organization reach its goal and continue giving beyond it. The scoreboard created excitement, encouraged participation, and showed everyone what they were accomplishing together.

When donors can see the momentum building in real time, giving becomes a shared experience instead of an individual act.

Have you ever used a donation scoreboard at your fundraising event?

Some auction items raise money.

Others create bidding wars.

At a recent fundraising event, an exclusive pair of boots made for Cole Hauser ("Rip Wheeler" from Yellowstone) sold for an incredible $10,000. But the boots were only part of the story.

The winning bidder also received lunch with Cole Hauser and a VIP seat next to him at next year's gala.

This is a perfect example of why experience-based live auction packages consistently outperform traditional auction items. Donors aren't just purchasing something tangible—they're investing in a memory they'll never forget.

If you're looking to increase revenue at your next fundraiser, consider offering exclusive access, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and unique opportunities that money typically can't buy.

What was the most successful live auction item at your recent event?

What does a truly seamless fundraiser feel like for guests?

✔️ Smooth check-in
✔️ Easy bidding and donating
✔️ Guests who feel welcomed and valued
✔️ More focus on your mission instead of event chaos

In this customer testimonial, Ann McNair, Managing Director of Conspirare, shares how Murad Auctions helped create a stress-free fundraising experience for their music event.

One of the biggest challenges for nonprofits is ensuring guests know where to donate, how to participate, and how to feel connected to the mission throughout the evening. That’s where great planning and professional event management make all the difference.

There’s a difference between working hard for a mission… and building systems that actually help the mission grow.

So many nonprofits are running on passion, heart, and exhausted people trying to hold everything together. But passion without good business structure can eventually lead to burnout.

The strongest nonprofit organizations I’ve seen still lead with heart — but they also think strategically. They build business systems. They value their teams. They create sustainable processes that protect both the mission and the people behind it.

“Because we’re a nonprofit” should never mean:

· Constant chaos
· Understaffing
· Unclear expectations
· People sacrificing their health and peace

Nonprofits may not exist to generate profits, but they still need to function like healthy businesses if they want to grow and make long-term impact.

This graphic really says it all. Which side feels more familiar to you?

What’s one thing your organization has done that helped create more balance between mission and business structure?

As fundraisers, we care deeply about every detail of our events. But sometimes, trying to do EVERYTHING keeps us from doing the one thing that matters most: connecting with people.

The heart of a successful fundraising event isn’t perfectly timed salads, raffle ticket sales, or silent auction logistics. It’s the conversations happening in the room.

When we delegate logistics to a trusted team, we create space to:
· Listen to donor stories
· Share impact face-to-face
· Build deeper relationships with supporters

Outsourcing or delegating isn’t “letting go” of your event—it’s protecting your ability to focus on mission, connection, and donor engagement.

What tasks do you delegate so you can spend more time with your guests?

Your silent auction shouldn’t feel like an afterthought. It should feel like an EXPERIENCE.

At this event, 10-foot-tall display walls showcasing premier silent auction packages became a major focal point of the evening and drew guests directly into the action. But the real difference-maker? Trained bidding assistants stationed throughout the space to help guests bid confidently, set max bids, and navigate mobile bidding with ease.

Sometimes the smallest touch of personal support creates the biggest increase in participation.

When guests feel comfortable, engaged, and excited… bidding goes up.

Would your guests benefit from concierge-style bidding support at your next fundraising event?

As a nonprofit, please challenge the old saying that more auction items equal more money! If you don't it may be costing you money

Are you offering too many silent auction items?

It might seem like more items = more revenue… but the opposite is often true.

When you have too many items, bidding gets spread out—and competition drops.

The sweet spot?
Your maximum number of silent auction items should be HALF your bidder profiles.

Example:
200 guests → ~100 bidders → 50 items max

Less inventory = more competition = higher bids

Want to maximize your auction revenue? Start by tightening your item count.
