Some nights you stumble into a place and realize pretty quickly that you found one of the good ones. ❤️🌴 and yes this band frequents the karaoke when we are not out playing live.

Our karaoke adventure at Jayla’s Bar & Grill on Crystal Beach was exactly that. Great food. Great drinks. Great karaoke. But honestly, the best part was the people. Jayla's staff made us feel right at home, and the locals were some of the most fun, welcoming folks we’ve met on this trip. We laughed, sang, and made some memories that will stick with us long after we leave the beach.

That’s what makes a place special. It’s not just the food or the drinks. It’s the people who make you want to come back.
Jayla’s is definitely one of those places. 🍻🎤🌊

For the 30 years I’ve been playing harmonica, I have to admit I’ve always approached it more as a novelty than a “real” instrument.

Being a classically trained brass player, I’ve always gone through harmonicas every three months or so with the sheer amount of bending I can do on single holes. I basically stuck with the cheaper Hohner products, using them with almost a disposable mentality. 😂

Well… today starts a new era.

I’m moving on to the Seydel 1847 Classic, a handmade harmonica with durable stainless steel reeds that many of my own harmonica heroes currently use. At around $100 a pop, it’s going to take a while to replace my entire arsenal, but the first few tones I blew through this morning by the pool made me realize something:

I have not been approaching this instrument with the respect it deserves.

So, to the harmonicas I have abused, bent, blown out and discarded over the last 30 years… I apologize. 😂

A new era begins today.

Time to quit hacking and start playing this thing like I mean it. 🎶🎵

We had a great night at the Rusted Rail! Sitting in with the band is Cayden Fowler. This kid is super talented and will have some great gigs in his future for sure!!! Our next event there is September 17th where we will bring back the Crandall Rock Band All-Stars going into homecoming week!
