An industry group just had a post asking for our favorite family owned venues. Not just because of the physicality of the location and space, but the overall experience. Here was my answer…

I can honestly say, I couldn’t sell a venue I didn’t love myself and be able to see myself or someone I love hosting their event there. I was blessed a year ago to be introduced to Harvest Field Farm and Acacia Collective, which have been incredible to work for and about six months ago I became a consultant for thedelanievenue. All of these locations are family owned, family run and all of the employees are treated like family members. My family has seen extensive challenges this past year and I don’t know what I would have done without the support of the people who own these venues and their teams, who provide me with a safe, secure, trusting and loving place to work, grow, share my expertise and be creative all while also giving me flexibility to be the Mom and Wife I strive to be.

I love that a company listened to its audience and made the change almost as much as the announcement. However, I wonder what their research said that led them to make the change in the first place? That is a lot of money to spend on a rebrand without the proper demographic analysis.

🚨BREAKING: Cracker Barrel stock just spiked nearly 10% this week.

Why?

Because they paid millions to a consulting firm for a new logo…
And customers hated it.

The backlash was so bad, Trump even chimed in.

Cracker Barrel folded, scrapped the logo, and went back to the old one.

And here’s the crazy part:
📈 Wall Street loved it.
Stock is now trading over $62.

They didn’t sell more biscuits.
They didn’t cut food costs.

They just admitted a mistake… and investors rewarded them.

Kinda wild, right?

A company spends millions on consultants, ignores its customers, then adds billions in value by simply saying, “Our bad.”

Sometimes the best investing lesson isn’t in spreadsheets…
It’s in biscuits and gravy.

It has been a busy weekend at Acacia Collective - Coffee, Coworking, & Community Space! I love planning and marketing community programs for this awesome cafe and venue.

Friday we hosted MATH BINGO with Mathnasium of Rowlett and the kids had a blast. Thanks to Golden Bloom Boutique, Saved by Grace Designs for donating prizes and Chiloso and Hot Donuts Rowlett for amazing nachos and sweet treats!

Today we had our first of hopefully many performances by Sam Sawyers and it was INCREDIBLE! Thanks to the entire Acacia Collective Team for hosting over 180 people today in our cafe and auditorium.
