Rallying is about more than driving around and having fun (don’t get us wrong, it’s definitely a lot of fun). It’s about the art and finesse of car control. Nothing compares to the adrenaline rush of mastering the skills of left-foot breaking or learning the Scandinavian flick. Our courses range from a half-day introductory class to a three-day rally university. It's sideways. And it's the most fu

n thing you never knew you needed to do. We’ve designed our driving curriculum so it’s engaging, informative, and the most fun you’ll have anywhere. To align with the exhilarating, one-of-a-kind experience our classes provide, we use an online voice that’s impassioned, knowledgeable, and thrilling. Our accomplished driving instructors can’t wait to share the sights, sounds, and feels of rally racing with the community.

The brake booster is another one of those modern car features that we love in our daily drivers but absolutely hate in a rally car.

The brake booster makes it easy for Bethany to doom scroll FaceBook while drinking a chai latte and still hit the brakes. But it also makes it way too easy for you to smash the brakes too hard when you’re driving a rally car.

In rally, small inputs can have big outputs. By removing the brake booster, you are giving yourself the ability to brake on a much finer scale than you’re able to with a brake booster. If you want to fill in a pot hole, you a shovel, not a dump truck.

ABS is one of the best automotive safety features ever made, so why don’t rally cars use it?

In short, it’s useless on gravel and is actually more dangerous because it makes the car unpredictable. Most drivers would actually be better off with no ABS. Of course, you will still need training before you will be good and comfortable without it. Good thing I know a place👀

Rally is the ultimate form of driving. There is nothing else quite like it, but the skills you learn in a rally car carry over to every aspect of your driving life. Whether you are a professional GT3 driver or simply taking the kids to school, the lessons you learn in a rally car are invaluable.

We offer a few different choices based on your needs and skill level.

Our 1 Day Rally School is the perfect playground to find the limits of yourself and the car in a safe and controlled environment. You will learn the basics of car control and how to respond when stuff gets weird.

The 2 Day Rally School is great for those who want a little more experience. It starts out the same as the 1 day, but on day 2 we start to integrate speed, big weight transfers and the really fun exercises like Scandi Flick.

If that’s still not enough, then Private Training is the choice for you. Just you, the instructors and 140 acres of rally paradise. Training that gets tailored specifically to your needs. Pace notes, heel toe or anything you can think of on our 6+ miles of ARA stage rally roads.

If that doesn’t sound like the perfect way to spend your day, I have 2 questions for you.

1: What is wrong with you?
2: Seriously, what is wrong with you?

Reach out now to get your Rally School or Private training booked!

Come on in, the dirt is fine.

You’ve learned a ton about how to build a rally car so far, but oh no your brakes are way too big to fit under the tiny 15” wheels and tires.

In rally, bigger is not always possible when it comes to brakes. Many rally cars end up with smaller brake packages than what they come with from the factory. But don’t let the size fool you. Proper gravel brakes pack a mean punch. Finding brakes with aggressive stopping power that are able to hold up to left-foot braking on a 20 mile stage that still fit in a 15” wheel, and don’t look like they were found on the Titanic after one rally worth of getting beat to death by rocks can be a tricky problem to solve. Luckily there are already many different solutions out there that make the choice easier regardless of what car you are building.

Gravel rally tires are extremely unique. With their crazy stiff sidewalls and specialized tread pattern, choosing the right tire, and changing them at the right interval is the difference between champagne and back pain.

Most top teams will change out all 4 tires at each service. That means you just spent upwards of $1200 to drive 30 miles on a set of tires. Or, for the rest of us mere mortals, it sounds like somebody has some cheap take-offs we could get a few rally school weekends out of..

How To Build A Rally Car EP 2: USE PROTECTION

In this video, goes over the importance of good safety equipment and what you should look out for when purchasing yours.

When choosing the safety equipment for your rally car, it is essential that you buy the correct gear. A well-fitted seat can be the difference between a sore neck and a broken back. The exact same can be said for every other piece of protective equipment.

Price is always a factor, but if there is anywhere that you are going to spend extra money, it should be on the gear that keeps you comfortable and safe. Remember that just cause it passes tech doesn’t mean it’s the right choice for you.

Follow us for the next episodes - wheels, tires, brakes, suspension, skid plates, and making smart(ish) choices.

“Oh look a penny”

and .kj exiting the woods during the final stage of the 2024 Rally Austin RallySprint.

Peep that rear tire hanging on by a thread and 0psi after a ditch adventure earlier in the stage. Didn’t seem to affect them much as they went on to finish 2nd overall in the stage.

Our next RallySprint is less than 1 month away. The Lost Pines RallySprint will be on October 25th. Spectator passes are available at the link in our bio!

Never been to The Rally Ranch before? Allow Austin’s Eminem to break it down for you in 90 seconds.

There are 6 unique areas that make The Rally Ranch so special. It's hard to cram it all into a 90 second reel so I guess you'll just have to come see it for yourself.
