Today, VFW Post 8905 honors the Greatest Generation—the men and women who served on the battlefield and the millions who supported the war effort from home during World War II.

National Spirit of ’45 Day is observed on the second Sunday in August to preserve the legacy of their courage, sacrifice, unity and service. More than eight decades later, their example reminds us of what Americans can accomplish when we stand together for a common purpose.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Steak Night last night!

We appreciate everyone who came out, brought family and friends, and helped make the evening a success. Great food, cold drinks and good company are what Steak Night at VFW Post 8905 is all about!

On August 7, 1782, General George Washington established the Badge of Military Merit to recognize extraordinary bravery and faithful service. It later inspired the modern Purple Heart, America’s oldest military decoration still presented to service members.

Today, VFW Post 8905 honors the courageous men and women who were wounded or gave their lives in combat while defending our nation. Their Purple Hearts represent sacrifice, courage and a debt that can never be fully repaid.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Respectful Flag Retirement Ceremony new date: 22 August, Saturday, from 0800 - 1200. Come and volunteer your time for an hour or two. This is a community service-driven event - bring your flags; we will take care of them.

Steak Night is back this Friday at VFW Post 8905!

Join us at 6:30 p.m. for a delicious 12 oz steak served with a baked potato, salad and dessert—all for just $22!

🍺 Beer specials will also be available throughout the evening.

Bring your family, invite your friends and come hungry! Steak Night is open to the public—everyone is welcome.

🎤 KAROKE will be in the Canteen starting at 8pm! Tell all of your singing friends and bring your voice.
