We’re excited to welcome Unky Bones to the Saturday lineup at Possum Fest!

Stationed in Lexington, Kentucky, this 4-piece rock band has been making serious noise across the state with high-energy performances, multiple Lexi Awards, appearances at iconic venues like Zanzabar, The Burl, and The Whirling Tiger, and even recognition in Rolling Stone.

With a sound that’s loud, fun, unpredictable, and completely their own, Unky Bones is building the “Bonehead Army” one show at a time. Their vibe? Like a Tamagotchi and a motorcycle had a baby — and honestly, that tells you everything you need to know.

We’re excited to welcome The Warren Project from Somerset, Kentucky, to the Saturday lineup!

This multi-genre cover and original band brings incredible stage presence, fan interaction, and a music mix that keeps the crowd hooked from start to finish. After months of speculation, backroom possum politics, and aggressive campaigning in the hollers, officials can now confirm that the race for the coveted title of Possum Fest Queen 2026 is officially underway. 👑🐾

Think you’ve got what it takes to be crowned our Possum Fest Queen 2026? Dust off your tail and sharpen those claws! The most prestigious, slightly-unhinged pageant in Kentucky is back!

We aren’t looking for “pageant perfect” — we’re looking for the most charming, creative contestant with the strongest possum pride for our beloved festival mascot.

Contestants will be judged on:

👗 Best Costume
Strut the runway with your best possum-inspired outfit — glamorous, hilarious, or handmade. Bonus points for tails or whiskers!

🎤 Interview (Possum Knowledge Test)
Our judges will test your wit, your hiss, and your dedication to the nocturnal lifestyle.

🎶 Talent Showcase (Keep it clean…)
Maybe you’re a kazoo virtuoso, can play “Rocky Top” on the washboard or jug, perform an interpretive dance about “playing possum,” or perhaps you specialize in squirrel-calling or biscuit tossing.

A Possum Fest Queen will be chosen based on combined scores from all categories.

We’re excited to once again welcome the Knoxville Rugby Football Club — The Possums to Cumberland for PossumFest 2026!

Apparently, they just couldn’t stay away… because let’s be honest, we’re probably the only festival crazy enough to celebrate possums properly. 😏

🦝🐾 Meet REAL possums at PossumFest! 🐾🦝

We’re excited to welcome our special wildlife rehabilitation guests, Mountainview Wildlife and Wilderness Trail Wildlife Center Furwin, to PossumFest 2026!

Festivalgoers will have the chance to learn about Kentucky’s native wildlife, meet real-life possums and other rescued animals, and discover how wildlife rehabbers work every day to rescue, rehabilitate, and protect animals across our region.

These organizations are fully licensed with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife and the USDA, and they do incredible work caring for injured and orphaned wildlife.

Stop by to:
✅ Meet real possums up close
✅ Learn about local wildlife
✅ Ask questions about rescue and rehabilitation
✅ Find out how you can support wildlife rescue efforts in Kentucky
