Fall comes with cool, crisp weather, and —the perfect recipe for a seasonal wedding. Autumn does more than set a pretty scene, however. The season's signature spices lend themselves to delicious cocktails; muted, earthy color schemes make for stunning paper goods and floral arrangements; and the harvest's signature fruits (think apples and ) make for the sweetest décor. And there's a reason why fall has become one of the most popular seasons for nuptials: The predictable, temperate weather allows for the prettiest outdoor events. Ultimately, if you're trying to decide , you can't go wrong with a September, October, or November date.

Having grandparents that are able to take part in your wedding day is a cause for celebration. For that reason, many couples want to honor the patriarchs and matriarchs of their families in some way, but aren't always sure how to go about doing so. Here are a couple ideas to incorporate those special people in your day:
1. Put their secret recipe on the menu
2. Borrow something and wear as part of your attire
3. Make them part of your sweatheart table
4. Display their Big Day photos
5. Use their wedding cake topper

Help members from both sides of the family break the ice and get to know each other a little better before the big day with some friendly competition. Have a random team selection process, or make it a battle of the sexes! Any assortment of games will do, so try a mix of classic board games like Monopoly or Clue, video games, like Just Dance, or yard games like corn hole, giant Jenga, or a relay.

Your rehearsal dinner doesn’t need to be fancy to be memorable, and a picnic is a perfect option for laid-back couples who want an equally laid-back celebration. First, decide whether you want guests to sit on the ground, traditional picnic style, or set up tables around the open space. Then put together a menu of simple finger foods, lemonades, flavored teas, and mini desserts to display buffet style—or in picnic baskets. Tie it all together with a few simple floral arrangments and you’re set. Whether you host in your backyard or a city park, the relaxed feel and chance to take it easy with you in an informal setting will set the stage for the wedding.
