Today I was able to take flower bouquets to our local Harris Teeter employees who survived an act of gun violence last week. I know this is a small act and these flowers will not repair the trauma that they will carry with them forever. I simply want them to know how much we value their presence and service in our small town.

My hope is that we will move forward into a world where we all agree to value human rights over insurance companies and guns. Please remember to vote for policies and politicians who support mental health access as well as gun safety. These are our people who are dying.
