With seamless ex*****on, Lauren Dukes delivers a wide variety of genres from Soul, Opera, & everything in between. Like many of her favorite singers, she started in church at age 5. By 10, she was singing with the Chicago Children's Choir. In college, Lauren enjoyed a brief stint in theater, then set her sights on being a lead singer. She is currently the female lead of the acclaimed Chicago-based cover band Spoken Four (spin-off of the popular cover band Maggie Speaks). At the Journeyman Distillery American Factory Jazz Session this Sunday, July 26th from 5 - 7pm (CST)...

Marilyn Gaza has been performing around the Chicagoland area for decades, bringing 50's style swing and jazz to new audiences every week. She studied at the Old Town School of Folk Music, and has performed at many staple clubs and venues such as the old Grapevine, the Chicago Cultural Center and the the Charleston.

This Wednesday at the Union Pier Social Jazz Session from 7-9 pm ESTā€¦

Fred Cantu is one of the busiest musicians on the scene today. Currently, he is featured as the lead trumpet with the Buddy Rich Big Band, and he also performs as a regular member of Grammy nominated Cuban jazz pianist Chuchito Valdesā€™ Ensemble. He started playing trumpet at the age of 14. Under the direction of Louis Ricci after playing trumpet just one month he was moved to the top concert band. By end of his second year he was playing principle trumpet in the Chicago All City High School Band. After High School Fred went to UIC then Roosevelt University where he was a music major and studied with Orbert Davis, Art Davis, Betty Eilers, Rob Parton and others.

During this time he worked as a lead trumpet player for artists such as Selena, Olga Tanon. After school Fred went on to play lead trumpet for Trent Carlini, 911 Mambo Orchestra, Danilo Perez, The Temptations and Willie Wilson to name just a few.

He performs as a regular member of Grammy nominated Cuban jazz pianist Chuchito Valdesā€™ Ensemble performing major jazz festivals around the country. He also tours worldwide with the Elvis Tribute Tour for Elvis Presley Enterprises.

Fredā€™s trumpet playing can be heard and seen every Sunday on WGNā€™s Singsation which reaches over a million viewers each week. His trumpet can also be heard on many recordings from Chicago, New York, and Las Vegas. In addition, Fred leads his own 13 piece Big Band (The Fred Cantu Big Band) which performs regularly around the Chicagoland area.

As a lead/jazz trumpet player Fred has toured with Chuchito Valdez, Ricardo Lemvo, Jose Valdes, and many more. Fred has played lead trumpet for 18 years on WGN's TV Show Singsation and currently plays lead trumpet for the Elvis Tribute Tour and Legends tour.

Fred leads his own Big Band The Fred Cantu Big Band which will be releasing their first CD later this year. He also leads the Fred Cantu Quintet both groups perform his original compositions and arrangements.

Performing into the stratosphere one moment and a warm mellow flugelhorn solo the next, Fred's trumpet and music will draw you into his music world and his love of music.

Fred continues to perform over 200 dates a year, including guest artist appearances, clinics, and many shows around his native Chicagoland area.

He will be backed up by Andy Sutton šŸ„, Kris Lohn šŸŽø and Nate Sorrentino šŸŽ¹

A veteran of the Chicago jazz scene, trumpeter/arranger Kirk Garrison attended college
in his home state of Minnesota before serving in the United States Air Force Band. After
leaving the Air Force in 1992, he completed his masters degree in Jazz Studies at
DePaul University. Kirk is the Director of Jazz Studies at Elmhurst University in Elmhurst
Illinois.

He is also in high demand as a performer, composer, teacher and arranger. He
has received commissions from DePaul University, the Chicago String Ensemble, and
the Millar Brass Ensemble at Northwestern University, and recently for internationally
renowned jazz artists saxophonist Phil Woods and drummer Jeff Hamilton.

As a member of the Lt. Dan Band featuring actor Gary Sinise, Kirk performs for scores
of active duty military members, veterans and their families, including many charity
organizations for disabled veterans.The band has toured extensively in the United
States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Kirk has appeared with Louie Bellson, Tony Bennett, Kenny Burrell, Dave Brubeck, Ron
Carter, Bill Champlin, Brett Eldridge, Peter Erskine, Lady Gaga, Jon Faddis, Aretha
Franklin, Marvin Hamlisch, Herbie Hancock, Bob Hope, Kevin Mahogany, Tom ā€œBonesā€
Malone, Frank Mantooth, ā€œBlue Louā€ Marini, Johnny Mathis, Rita Moreno, Don Rickles,
Dianne Schuur, Danny Seraphine, Ed Shaughnessy, Frank Sinatra, Jr., Clark Terry,
Frank Wess, Joe Williams, Nancy Wilson and Phil Woods. Other performance credits
include the International Music Festival in Hue, Vietnam, the Ravinia Music Festival, the
Chicago Blues Festival, Chicago Jazz Festival and numerous other venues throughout
the country.

Kirk also performs as a guest soloist and clinician/adjudicator at middle schools, high
schools and colleges throughout the country. He is a Schilke artist and plays their B5
trumpet and flugelhorn. Kirk uses Denis Wick precision mutes and mouthpieces and is a
Denis Wick performing artist. Products and sponsorship provided by DANSR, Inc. the
North American importer for Denis Wick. He also endorses AMT microphones and uses
