Veil or no veil — how do you actually decide?
This is one of the questions I get asked most. And guess what? There’s no wrong answer.
But here’s how I help brides think it through:
Do you want drama? A veil delivers it like nothing else. That moment you walk down the aisle with it trailing behind you — there’s a reason brides have been wearing a veil for centuries.

Do you want freedom? A headpiece, a hat, a hair vine — you get the romance without the length. You can dance, you can move, you can breathe.

Do you want both? You can. A short blusher veil paired with a stunning headpiece is one of my favorite combinations—the best of both worlds.

Do you feel nothing when you try one on? Then it’s not your thing — and that’s completely okay. Your way is the best. Always.

The real question isn’t veil or no veil. It’s what makes you feel most like you on your wedding day?

Something old, something new — and sometimes, something transformed. 💖

One of the most meaningful things I get to do at Marti & Company is take a piece of someone’s family history and give it a new life.

A grandmother’s veil. A mother’s headpiece. A vintage brooch that’s been sitting in a jewelry box for decades, waiting for the right moment.

In the photo, I used the lace offcuts from the Bride’s gown to make a headpiece and lace shoe clips for the flower girl. Lace offcuts can be used to make a headpiece, a headband, a purse, a flower, or other accessories.

That brooch becomes the centerpiece of a custom headpiece. That vintage veil gets a new edge, a new length, a new story. That heirloom gets to be part of the most important day of your life — and someday, maybe your daughter’s too.

There’s nothing quite like walking down the aisle carrying the love of the women who came before you.

You know how it happens, you walk in the Bridal Boutique not expecting much, and then “that one” is just… it. You don’t choose it. It chooses you.
 
Then comes the part I love most.
 
The cape veil that makes you feel like you’re floating. The headpiece that makes you look in the mirror and finally see yourself as the “Bride.” The little details nobody else might notice except you, every time you look at your photos for the rest of your life.
 
That’s what finishing touches are meant to do. They don’t complete the outfit. They complete the feeling.

And finding them? That’s my favorite appointment to have. 💖
