Another Fourth of July is in the books, and I’m incredibly grateful to report that we had another safe and successful fireworks display!

A huge THANK YOU goes out to everyone who helped make this year’s show possible:

* The volunteer firefighters who stood ready throughout the display.
* My fellow pyrotechnicians, Sharla Dowding and Jim Hutchinson, for their countless hours of preparation and professionalism.
* Our spotters, communications team, and everyone who helped keep safety as the top priority.
* The City of Crawford, Old West Trails Rodeo, law enforcement, emergency responders, and all of the volunteers who worked behind the scenes.
* And finally, thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate America’s 250th birthday with us in a safe and responsible way.

Many people ask how our fireworks show is funded. The answer is simple: through your generous donations. We receive no magic funding source, and 100% of every dollar donated goes directly toward purchasing next year’s fireworks. No one involved takes a paycheck.

This year’s fireworks order totaled $6,500, and to stretch every donation as far as possible, we need to place next year’s order by January to take advantage of early-order discounts and promotions. Ordering early allows us to get the biggest and best show possible for the money we raise.

If you enjoyed this year’s display and would like to help make next year’s show even better, please consider making a donation. Whether it’s $10, $100, or more, every contribution helps light up the skies over Crawford.

Thank you for your continued support, your generosity, and for helping keep this tradition alive. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!

🇺🇸 God bless you, God bless Crawford, and God bless the United States of America! 🎆

🇺🇸 Celebrating Freedom — Responsibly 🇺🇸

Last night our fireworks crew had the privilege of putting on the show at Prairie Wind Casino, and we are thankful to report that it was a safe and successful evening.

As we prepare for Crawford’s Independence Day celebration, we want everyone to know that safety is, and always has been, our first priority.

Many of us involved with the fireworks display are the same neighbors who recently stood beside our firefighters and ranchers during the South Fork Fire. We have seen firsthand the damage fire can cause, and we do not take that responsibility lightly.

Fireworks have been part of America’s celebration of freedom for generations, and as we approach our nation’s 250th birthday, our goal is not simply to put on a show — it is to honor our country, bring our community together, and do it the right way.

For the Crawford display:
✅ We are working directly with local fire leadership
✅ Fire crews and equipment will be on site
✅ Water resources will be staged and ready
✅ The site has been prepared to reduce risk
✅ Weather conditions will continue to be monitored
✅ We have the ability to stop the show immediately if conditions change

We understand and respect the concerns in our community. We share them. The decision to proceed will always put safety ahead of celebration.

Thank you to our firefighters, first responders, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who works behind the scenes to keep our traditions alive.

May God bless our community, protect those who serve, and may God bless the United States of America. 🇺🇸

The fireworks after the rodeo are still tentatively scheduled. If conditions don't drastically improve, we will adhere to the stipulations of wind less than 15 miles an hour. We always coordinate with our local fire department, and if there is an active fire that they are responding to, we will not be able to have a show, but neither of those stipulations are any different than any other year. Safety first.

Crawford City Council approved Resolution 2026-16 Banning the sale of and igniting of fireworks within city limits, excluding the Mr. Fireworks display following the rodeo July 4 with stipulations of the department being deployed and winds exceeding 15 MPH. The ban carries a $1,000 fine per occurrence of igniting fireworks within City Limits. This ban includes personal use of fireworks within the city park and rodeo arena area. The fine will be enforced in these areas as well.
