Our Race Committee has active participation with races taking place two nights a week and social dinners to follow. There are Club Cruises, re-instated in 1979, offering an opportunity for boaters of all kin

ds to cruise together for a week or more, exploring Narragansett Bay or surrounding areas in Massachusetts or Conneticut.

Tonight we closed out the EYC 2026 Beetle Cat Summer Series in style. 10 boats competed in 3 races. Bill S. in SCARAB took first with 6 points, followed by Jim M. in KAT in second with 7 points, breaking the tie over George in his old ride, SEASHELL, also with 7 points. Kathy supplied the homemade pizza afterwards, so everyone ended the series a winner! We are now on to the Fall Series / Harris Sweepstakes starting next week, September 2, with 6pm first race starts.

Last night was Week Eight of the EYC 2026 Beetle Cat Summer Series. Jim M. in KAT won the night in a fickle westerly. Jeff in NEWSANCE took second and Rick in TBD took third among 9 boats on the line. Next week is the end of the Summer Series ... the Fall Series / Harris Sweepstakes starts on September 2 with a 6pm first race start (next week is still 615pm).

A huge EYC thank you to Barnstable Yacht Club for hosting the 2026 Leo J. Telesmanick Beetle Cat Championships this weekend. Day two saw much sportier conditions over 4 races. All 3 EYC boats took home hardware, with George Shuster and Stephanie Van Patten in LIGHTNING BUG taking first in the Old Salts Division (6th Overall), Bill Grenga and Jamie Fallon in JULIEANN taking first in the Ancient Mariners Division (8th Overall), and Bill Batro and Kathy Taylor in CALLI taking third in the Ancient Mariners Division (11th Overall).

Day 1 of the 2026 Leo J. Telesmanick Beetle Cat Championships hosted by Barnstable Yacht Club saw 3 EYC boats on the line among 12 boats racing in light air and wicked current in Barnstable Harbor. Strong results by all of George Shuster & Stephanie Van Patten in LIGHTNING BUG, Bill Grenga & Jamie Fallon in JULIEANN, and Bob Bartro & Kathy Taylor in CALLI. Day 2 starts this afternoon ... wish all of our EYC Beetle sailors good luck!

One month from today is EYC's first Wet Paint event & exhibit! We have 14 artists signed up to draw & paint in the Edgewood area between 5am and 5pm on Sunday, September 13 ... then their work created that day will be on exhibit (and for sale if they'd like) at EYC with snacks & a cash bar from 5pm to 7pm. Artists & exhibit visitors may be EYC members or not. We have room for 25 artists, so sign up now if you're interested, and plan to come by for the exhibit regardless!

Thanks to Chris Lee for running Week 7 of the EYC 2026 Beetle Cat Summer Series last night. Racing took place to the east off the club Whaler for a change from the usual dock starts. Bill S. in SCARAB took first, followed by Jim M. in KAT in second and Jeff in NEWSANCE in third. This weekend, some of the EYC Beetle fleet is off to Barnstable for the 2026 Leo J. Telesmanick Beetle Cat Championships ... with them luck!
