I have been seeing alot of posts on my flower farmers site about what to do if a customer says they see a catapiller or bug on their flowers. The best advice I have is EDUCATE. Especially if you grow organically.

These little catapillers are what create these gorgeous swallowtail butterflies! I purposely plant Dill and Anise as they love it and I leave it for them.

Yes you may find a "critter" once in awhile on a bouquet but that doesn't mean suddenly your home will be infested. It is nature.

I would much rather see a little live creature once in awhile than to have a bouquet covered in harmful chemicals that destroy the eco system by killing off plant friendly pollinators such as butterflies, ladybugs, and bees.

Ya'll if pollinators die we die. Without them not only do we not have the beauty of flowers, but we don't have the sustinance of food.

On my farm we don't mind some bugs, we don't mind some weeds....please pardon the process we are feeding the bees!

This Saturday at The Rhodes House Covington, Tennessee August 9th, from 9am until noon!!

I am going to have these amazing blooms in the mix, Doppio Allegretto. Love that name, Itallian cutting Petunias!!! Mine lasted a week in the vase I just pinched off spent blooms and the rest of the buds opened. Who knew!?!?

Even the butterflies are helping harvest!
