I'm going to be real and open with you right now. Every morning, I open up my Instagram and scroll through all the incredible small businesses I follow. I love seeing what they are up to, their wins, and just seeing small businesses doing their thing. Just this week alone, three businesses announced they are closing their doors, including one local business in Lincoln. THREE! This is incredibly heartbreaking, and I can only imagine all the feelings they are going through having to make these insanely difficult decisions. All the heart, sweat, tears, triumps, and dreams that went into opening these businesses...to close because there just isn't enough business to stay open. And to be honest, we have even had the beginning stages of these conversations, because we simply can not survive with the way things are going. Don't worry, we aren't closing the doors! Just brainstorming ideas to help us out.
I know it's so much easier shopping at big box stores, going to Target , At Home, Amazon,or HomeGoods for decor, gifts, jewelry, apparel, etc. And most think it's cheaper. But honestly, their prices are pretty dang comparable to us small businesses. The difference? When you purchase from a small business, you are not only treating yourself to some fun new things, but your transaction helps us keep our doors open and dreams alive....so we don't have to make the dreadful decisions like having to close up shop. We do happy dances when we make a sale. When we get new customers. When we see our regulars. When we reach our daily sales goals. And most importantly, we do a happy dance, because we get to open the doors for you one more day! To them, you're just a number. Our economy has gone to s #!t the past couple years, and we need our community more than ever to help keep the doors open. So when you're shopping for yourself, a friend, a gift, think about all the small businesses that could help you fill that need. And I promise you, we are forever grateful for all the support โค๏ธ Keep liking, commenting, and sharing. That is just as important! Thank You from the bottom of my heart to everyone who comes in and supports our small business. Let's keep these happy dances going.
