A ceremony tucked into the trees. Moody florals. Dinner under the lights. And a late-night pizza situation we fully support. 🍕
This wedding had its own personality, and we were here for every bit of it.
Because the best weddings aren’t necessarily the ones that follow all the rules.
They’re the ones that feel like the people getting married.
The thoughtful choices. The unexpected moments. The people who make the whole thing worth celebrating.
Our job? Help bring all those moving pieces together so our couples can actually enjoy the party they planned.

We’re big believers that the smallest moments can make the biggest impression.
Not necessarily the most expensive ones.
Not the ones that require a 40-foot installation.
Sometimes it’s a personalized little something.
An unexpected activity.
Really good food.
Or watching a grown man proudly show off his embroidery project.
(Which, honestly, we love.)
When we’re planning an event, we’re always thinking about what guests will actually experience.
What will surprise them?
What will make them laugh?
What will they talk about afterward?
Because beautiful is great.
But beautiful AND memorable?
That’s our favorite.

Your wedding doesn’t need a theme. It needs a point of view.
Wear the pink dress you found on the Real Real.
Have your dad brew the wedding b**r at his brewery and put the text conversation that started it all on the can.
Choose the flowers because you love them, not because they’re having a moment.
Have dinner somewhere that makes you stop for a second when the lights come on.
The best weddings aren’t the ones where everything matches.
They’re the ones where, five minutes in, you know exactly whose wedding you’re at.

We love a meaningful gala program.
We do not love a meaningful gala program that accidentally becomes a 73-minute meeting with dinner.
Your guests don’t need to hear from everyone who has ever been involved with the organization.
They need to understand why the work matters.
Give them a story they’ll remember. Let the right people speak. Make the ask clear. Thank the people who need to be thanked.
And then?
Let them enjoy the party.
Because the dinner, the conversations, the dancing, the cocktails and the ridiculous thing that happens on the dance floor at 10:17pm aren’t distractions from the event.
They’re part of why people want to come back next year.
A great program moves people. It doesn’t hold them hostage.

We’ve said it before: your wedding doesn’t need more stuff. It needs more YOU.
Franceska + Shyam understood the assignment.
This wedding was full of tiny pieces of their life together — places that mattered to them, animals they love, celestial little nods, inside jokes, personal artwork and details that probably didn’t mean much to everyone in the room.
But they meant something to them.
And that’s exactly the point.
Franceska’s sister, an artist + designer, created some of the custom pieces throughout the wedding, which made the whole thing feel even more personal.
Because the details we love most aren’t necessarily the ones that are trending.
They’re the ones that make you look at a wedding and think:
Oh. These people live here.
Not literally. 😂
But you know what we mean.
Make it beautiful. Make it weird. Make it sentimental. Put your dog on the cocktail menu. Commission a slightly unhinged family portrait.
Make it yours.

Here’s a little event-planner secret:
Something will go wrong at your wedding.
Sorry. 😂
Maybe “wrong” is dramatic.
Something will be late. Someone will have a question. A vendor will need something. The weather will do something weird. The timeline will shift. Something will end up somewhere it isn’t supposed to be.
Because weddings involve a lot of humans doing a lot of things in a lot of different places.
That’s events.
Good planning isn’t about creating some magical universe where nothing unexpected ever happens.
It’s about having people there who know what to do when it does.
So while we’re tracking down the missing boutonniere, adjusting the timeline, answering the caterer’s question and figuring out why the shuttle isn’t where it’s supposed to be...
You’re hopefully doing something much more important.
Being at your wedding.
That’s the goal.

As an events person or couple that got married..what is the craziest thing you had to deal with on an event day?

We have some opinions about company events.
Shocking, we know.
But here’s the big one:
Your company event isn’t separate from your company culture.
It’s actually one of the few times people get to experience that culture together.
So yes—we care about the food. The music. The room. The timeline. Whether there are enough bartenders. Whether someone thought through what happens during that awkward 45 minutes between arrival and dinner.
But we’re also thinking about something bigger:
Why are these people here?
Are we celebrating them?
Thanking them?
Connecting them?
Inspiring them?
Giving them a chance to actually enjoy each other outside of work?
Because an event can be beautifully produced and still feel completely hollow.
Or it can make someone leave thinking:
“Damn. I really like these people.”
We’ll take the second one.
That’s the kind of company event we’re interested in making.

Your wedding isn’t a photoshoot. And your timeline isn’t just a schedule.
One of the things planners + photographers both know? The best wedding days have room to breathe.
Room to hug your people.
Eat your dinner.
Hear the speeches.
Sneak away for photos.
Get back to the party.
And actually remember being there.
A good timeline isn’t about cramming every possible thing into eight hours.
It’s about figuring out what matters most to you — and protecting time for it.
Because the goal isn’t a perfectly on-time wedding.
It’s a wedding you actually got to experience.
We asked for her photographer POV on this one, because the timeline doesn’t just affect how the day runs. It affects how the story gets captured, too.
Your people. Your priorities. Your story.
Then tag Tanya as the collaborator and credit the other photographers in the caption as well, even though you’ve credited them on-screen. That gives everyone another easy tag/notification and makes the vendor-love piece of this post stronger.

A gala is not just a party. And it definitely isn’t just dinner + an auction + a paddle raise.
The best nonprofit events do something much harder:
They make a room full of people feel connected to a story that may not be their own.
Maybe they walk in knowing very little about the family your organization serves. Or the problem you’re trying to solve. Or what happens behind the scenes every day.
But by the time they leave?
They know someone’s name.
They understand why the work matters.
They’ve laughed, cried, talked to someone new, heard a story they’ll remember — and hopefully started to see themselves as part of what happens next.
That’s the job of the event.
Yes, we want the room to be beautiful. We want great food and a program that runs smoothly. We want people to have a damn good time.
But all of those things should serve something bigger:
Connection.
Because fundraising isn’t just about asking people to give.
It’s about giving them a reason to care.
And then giving them a way to be part of the story.
