Workshop 1: Learn easy ways to compost food scraps and connect with fellow composters. Workshop 2: Learn the basics of sewing!

Two Workshops in One Day!

Learn sustainable skills for the garden or home! Attend one or both.

Compost Meetup (9am-10am): Whether you joined us at our first workshop or you're brand new to composting, the Cool Irvine Compost Club is a space to connect, learn, and grow together.

Returning members—bring your questions, wins, and "what went wrong" stories to share. New to the club? You'll leave with practical, approachable solutions you can start using right away.

Sewing Class (10:15am-11:15am): Learn the basics of sewing so you can make minor fixes to your clothes. Joanna from the American Sewing Guild will lead this introductory class. Experienced sewer are welcome to join the sewing circle too!

Coffee and refreshments provided.

Bring your reusable coffee mug to help us limit waste.
Please arrive 5 minutes early before your session so we can start on time.

Several other passionate environmental leaders are hosting a FREE EcoLearning Fair perfect for K-8th grade students!
Join us on Saturday, July 25, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Turtle Rock Community Center in Irvine for hands-on activities, crafts, games, and interactive booths covering more than 10 environmental topics. Families will get to meet leaders from OC Goes Solar, OC Coastkeeper, Refuse and Reuse, Leaf by Leaf, OCSA EcoInnovators, Re:Purpose, Grades of Green, Rethink Fashion, UCLA Bruins for Animal Rights, UCI Engineers for a Sustainable World, and Climate Reality Project OC.
Students can collect raffle tickets as they visit booths and enter a sustainable-item giveaway at the end of the fair. The event is sponsored by the Dragon Kim Foundation, a nonprofit supporting youth-led community projects.

A Children's Thrift & Trade Market for Ages 10 & Under 📚🧸🌎💛

A magical day of thrifting, trading, and learning for children ages 10 and under.

Join us for a kid-centered thrift market designed to introduce little learners to the value of secondhand shopping, sustainability, and community giving. Children can bring gently used books to exchange with other young readers or receive $0.50 in store credit per accepted book (up to $5.00 total) to shop for kid-friendly treasures throughout the market.

Our Trinket Bin will be filled with fun, affordable surprises—perfect for little shoppers who love the thrill of treasure hunting. From tiny collectibles and toys to miscellaneous fun finds, there's something waiting to be discovered.

We'll also feature a handful of young entrepreneurs showcasing their creativity and small businesses, giving children an opportunity to support and be inspired by fellow kids in the community.

How the Book Trade Works
Bring gently used children's books.

Receive $0.50 in store credit for each accepted book, up to $5.00 per child (max $7.00 per household).

Use your credit toward children's merchandise during the event.

Browse and exchange books with other young readers.

Any remaining books will be shared with local Little Free Libraries and nonprofit organizations to help spread the joy of reading throughout our community.

Why We're Hosting This
Children outgrow things quickly, but that doesn't mean those items have reached the end of their story. Through thrifting, trading, and sharing, kids can learn that pre-loved items still hold value and can bring joy to someone new.

At Rescued Eras, we're creating a fun, hands-on experience that encourages children to read, reuse, shop thoughtfully, and support their community.
