Community Reunification
Reunification is a strong word that is used to define the moment people are unified. I truly feel the term is justified and applies to this and other community events this year. The Corry Area needs to see its neighbors. The elderly need to see children playing in the park. The children need to see veterans marching, so they can ask their parents “Why are those men in those
uniforms?” The community needs to reunite ! This will be addressed in every aspect of this event. We will celebrate together. Some of us will laugh together and some of us will cry together on this day. We will finally be together.
2. Local Commerce
For many vendors, crafters, non profits , and performers this might be the first opportunity they have had in over a year to raise funds or get paid for their talents, business or causes. We will work hard to give an opportunity to as many as we possibly can. We will put local commerce at the front of every choice we make and work hard to make sure every single penny stays in our area.
3. Honor or First Responders and Veterans
This was my first goal in the original event planning. I wanted to find some way of giving a small amount of recognition to a group who have given so much. I believe these members of our community have endured a period of service that might rival any over period in history. We asked them to go to work and serve us, when we didn't even know what we were up against. We asked them to take care of the community while we stayed home with our families. This event is a very small way to tell them their sacrifices have not gone unnoticed and we will forever be grateful.
