I’m so sorry to share that we’re unable to show It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, and I need to pull it from our schedule.

I just learned yesterday that Apple holds the exclusive rights and public performance licensing is not currently available. I’m so bummed about this. We are huge Charlie Brown fans, and I know many of you were excited about it too.

I’ve been asking everyone what you’d like to see instead, so please keep the suggestions coming! We’re looking for something Halloween-y, very kid-friendly, and ideally on the shorter side.

This was going to be our first attempt at a double feature, and there was a reason behind choosing a shorter first film. We want to create opportunities for children who may be experiencing the movies for the first time, learning how to sit through a movie, or simply aren’t ready for a full-length feature yet. We want to keep exploring that idea.

On another note, there are still seats available for opening weekend!

Regarding booking, a few people have had trouble booking seats in the front row. I was able to replicate the issue, so I know there is a problem on the ticketing side and I’ll be contacting the platform Monday to troubleshoot it.

If you have any trouble reserving a seat, please text me as soon as you notice it and tell me which seat you’re trying to book. I can book it from my end, or feel free to stop by the Theater so I can help. I basically live there now as we get everything ready for Thursday!

1. Join — Become a member at MYSTORMKING.COM. Membership is required to reserve tickets.

2. Watch for Your Access Window — When tickets are released, you’ll be able to reserve based on your membership access level. Some experiences may open to all members immediately.

3. Reserve Your Seats — Log in with your membership code and book your tickets when your access window opens.

54 years later, we’re almost ready to welcome Cornwall back to Storm King Theater!

We’re still waiting on Central Hudson to turn on the power (help!) so we can complete inspections, which means our exact opening date is still TBD. We’re planning for the first two weeks of October, and members will hear the date first.

In the meantime, our Box Office (MYSTORMKING.COM)is open.

Choose a free or paid membership, check out the October event calendar, and get ready to reserve your seats. With only 50 cinema seats, membership helps us understand demand, add showtimes when needed, and gives those who want to support the theater a way to do so.

Your membership also determines when you can access tickets. First Access members get the first 24 hours to reserve seats, followed by Second Access 24 hours later, then Third Access 24 hours after that. Earlier access means more seat choices, with tickets first-come, first-served within each window.

Most October movies, including our opening celebration, are free to attend, but tickets are still required. Paid experiences include a concert and Rocky Horror in October. No tickets are required for our public Halloween event.

On December 16, 1935, just five months after Storm King Theater opened, the world famous Don Cossack Russian Male Chorus, under the direction of Serge Jaroff, performed on its stage for a benefit concert supporting the Cornwall Public Library

The Don Cossack Chorus wasn’t your average touring vocal group. The singers were former officers of the Imperial Russian Army who fled Russia following the Russian Revolution. Stripped of their citizenship by the Soviet government, many became stateless refugees, legally recognized as men without a country.

The Newburgh News covered the challenges they faced just to reach America. Because they had no recognized nationality, U.S. immigration laws prevented them from entering directly from Europe. Instead, they sailed to Mexico before making the journey overland into the United States. Simply arriving for an American tour required extraordinary determination.

Out of exile came one of the most celebrated male choruses in the world.

Founded in a refugee camp in 1921, the chorus was created to preserve the music and traditions of the homeland they had lost. Their performances became internationally renowned for their astonishing vocal range, military precision, and emotional power. Local newspaper accounts described audiences captivated by basses that descended to incredible depths and tenors that soared effortlessly above the chorus. They marched onto the stage in military formation and began singing without a conductor giving a starting pitch, leaving audiences spellbound.

For Cornwall, hosting performers of this stature in 1935 was extraordinary. Their appearance connected Cornwall to one of the defining historical events of the twentieth century while raising funds for the local public library.

Nearly ninety years later, their names may not be as widely recognized as they once were, but their story deserves to be remembered. The Don Cossack Russian Male Chorus endured unimaginable loss, carried their culture across continents, and transformed exile into something beautiful.
