I would like to share a brief background of Big R's and some of our plans for the future-
The land here has been passed down through my family for four generations and named after my father. Many arrowheads have been found here and an indian mound nearby. The pond was built and used as part of an old coal mine. It was once just a wooded area with natural springs. A lot of time and effort has been put into improving things as much as possible.
One of the goals is to clean up the old dump and abandoned buildings left behind from the mine. These are big tasks, but are high on the list of things to do. A lot of landscaping work and art installations can be found all over the property. Bridges and paths are being made and expanded on.
Improvements on access ways to the backside of the property are being planned. The slack pile that remains from the coal mine will serve as a base layer for the new roads. Locally sourced gravel has been used to build and repair all of the existing roads here.
Our main goal is to build something to host indoor flow events all year-round. We are lucky to have a place to start and plan to continue to grow. More area was recently added making a total of 50 acres on site. We are thankful for those who support our efforts in reaching our goals and excited to share what we have been working on.
