Ok - I’ve been asked quite a lot to show what I’ve been creating on my Level 4 course with (levels 4 and 5 make up a ‘Masters’) - so this week’s project was a figurative 3D floral design. Next week it’s a ‘cube’ design. I’m reaching the end of this year and the dreaded exams in June but I’ve really enjoyed the weekly projects which have not only increased my skill levels considerably but also really challenged me creatively too - I’d recommend it to any florist who wants to push their boundaries! (Courses are online with weekly zoom tutorials). I’ll try and pop a few more of my finished designs done over the past 9 months - on here soon.

So much for my carefully planned ‘lasagna’ planting last autumn - it’s all up at the same time!! Iris, daffs, tulips - early mid and late - all early 🙄but still beautiful although careful colour combos completely gone! . (Tilly and Roo enjoying the 20C ☀️8am breakfast on the porch. Not all bad! 😊)

Quick practice wreath today (using up some dried colourful bits I had - so not particularly festive - yet!) before we commence the start of the ‘workshops’ tomorrow! Third day of my Masters and getting creative! All very inspiring so far with and incredible Master Tutor, Tina Parkes. Slight brain overload already but a great week so far with a fabulous group of other, also very inspiring, students. It is certainly going to be a challenging couple of years - taking our base skills from previous levels and elevating, elevating and more elevating! If you love floristry and want to either start from scratch or push your skills further then The British Academy of Floral Art is certainly the best place to learn. Love it !

Spending a few days walking and beaching in amazing north Cornwall with my gorgeous Beatrice! I think we got our sunshine timing right! Trevone, Harlyn and Boobys beaches, oh and some filming by the BBC of a new production of Mallory Towers. (Intrigued as to how they blur out all the surfboards and swimmers in the background!).
