So credit cards suck. They take from 3 to 4 percent of your revenue for doing business. Then there are chargebacks.
We had a customer call on a late afternoon for a delivery to the hospital. We’ll say the last name of the customer was Jones. The recipient was also a Jones. The sender gave us their cc number , exp date, cv code, and billing address as our fraud control measure . We delivered to the hospital where the volunteers deliver to the rooms. We thought it was done- then we got a fraud chargeback- as though we never delivered.
I provided the credit card company the details of the sale, identity process, Jones to Jones, proof that a volunteer delivered - and we still lost the challenge. There is literally nothing else we can do. Any further challenges cost us more than the original sale. This exchange cost us even more money than the original order already with the time invested.
The sender also claimed fraud - we get it- not every arrangement is a favorite. But we did exactly as asked and the customer never even called us back- just did the chargeback. We get very few complaints - but always do our best to make it right. This was also an order at our lowest price point so we weren’t making much in the first place. So frustrating.
