Happy 4th of July to everypawdy! Please stay safe and remember if you have a pet here are some good tips:
⸻
🎆 4th of July Pet Safety Tips 🐾
1. Keep Pets Indoors: Fireworks and crowded parties can be overwhelming. Create a quiet, cozy space inside where your pet feels safe (bonus points for cuddles and snacks).
2. Exercise Early: Walks and playtime during the day = less energy for panic when the fireworks start. Tired pets are chill pets.
3. Secure ID Tags & Microchips: Just in case your pet pulls a Houdini, make sure their collar is on and their microchip info is updated.
4. Use Calming Aids: Ask your vet about calming treats, meds, or products like ThunderShirts. (Because lavender oil isn’t gonna cut it when the sky is exploding.)
5. Create a Chill Zone: Close the curtains, turn on calming music or the TV, and keep things mellow. Think “spa day,” not “war zone.”
6. Avoid Fireworks Altogether: Yes, even sparklers. Pets don’t care how cute your backyard show is—they just want it to stop.
7. Watch the Food & Drinks: Keep people food, alcohol, and glow sticks out of paw’s reach. Even one dropped hot dog can spell tummy trouble.
8. Act Normal: Don’t overly coddle or panic—your pet takes cues from you. Pretend everything’s fine, even if you’re clutching a glass of wine in the bathtub with them.
