Last night I DJ'd a fun backyard pool party celebrating two milestone birthdays.

I was told that the original DJ canceled at the last minute.

I just don't understand how some DJs can treat their clients that way, unless they had a sincere emergency come up.

But some clients can be just as bad. Especially when good DJs try to step up in such situations.

Before this birthday party came along, I was talking to another potential client who was having issues with their DJ, and I offered to step in.

The client seemed very grateful and said they might have found someone, but they would let me know either way.

Well, yesterday came & went, and that client had completely ghosted me. Even after I had reached out to them to ask where they were at with the situation.

That is incredibly frustrating to us good guys who are only trying to help someone in need.

A simple definite message of, "We found someone, but thank you so much for reaching out" is only basic common courtesy, and it goes a very long way.

Some DJs, and some clients, need to do a lot better.
