Six sessions. Six years of memories. And one family that will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Angelica and her amazing family are truly one of my all time favorite families to photograph. I could photograph them every single day and never get tired of it! Every year we create something a little different, and somehow, every session becomes another favorite of mine.
This year, we wanted to do something completely different.
Instead of heading out to another beautiful location, we decided to bring the session home. Their home. A place where so many of their everyday memories are made, where the kids can be themselves, and where we could create something that felt a little more personal.
And I am SO glad we did!
We started with the family lounging by the pool, captured some individual portraits of the kids, and made sure Mom and Dad had their own moment in front of the camera. We laughed, got creative, and even had the whole family jumping by the pool! That image alone makes me smile every time I look at it.
But one of the most special parts of this year's session was having Grandma and Grandpa join us, too.
There is something incredibly meaningful about bringing generations together for photographs. These are the images that become more valuable with every passing year. Having the grandparents surrounded by their children and grandchildren, all together in one photograph, is something that simply can't be replaced.
We ended the evening gathered around the fire, and I couldn't have imagined a more perfect way to finish this session.
What makes this family so special to me isn't just how beautiful their photographs turn out. It's the relationship we've built over the years. I've watched these kids grow, seen their personalities develop, and had the privilege of documenting another chapter of their lives year after year.
Six sessions together, and I still get excited every time we start planning the next one.
Angelica, thank you for continuing to trust me with your family's memories, for always being open to my ideas, and for allowing me to be creative. Your family is genuinely such a joy to photograph, and I appreciate you more than you know.
I already can't wait to see what we dream up for session number seven!
This session is such a beautiful reminder that family portraits don't always have to happen in a field, at a park, or somewhere with a spectacular view. Sometimes the most meaningful location is the place you call home, surrounded by the people you love most.
