7 years ago today, we fired up the grill for the very first time. 🔥

We started with Mr. Mestizo’s dad’s recipe and gave it our own twist. A few minor tweaks here and there, mainly to make it scalable + dialed in measurements to remain consistent.

What began as a summer project turned into a full-blown business built on family recipes, traditions and a whole lot of love!!!

Mestizo Paella has always been rooted in us — our family, our culture, our love for feeding people well.
What began as a summer project in our kitchen has grown into a brand that embodies everything we value: authenticity, bold flavors, and communal meals for every celebration.

Seven years in, we didn’t chase trends. We stayed real to who we are and walked our own path — and the right people found us, and continue to find us.

Here’s to building with intention, purpose, and a whole lot of garlic aioli (iykyk) and to every person who’s supported us along the way — thank you for rocking with us 🫶🏾

So incredibly proud of Mr. Mestizo 👏🏽

Teaching has always been Christian’s passion—something that started back in our college days. From the very beginning of Mestizo Paella, we knew our journey wasn’t leading to a restaurant. Our dream? A paella school—something fun, interactive, and rooted in culture.

We first planned to launch in 2023, but life had other plans. Now, the time is finally right, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring a paella school to the Bay Area! A space where people can learn, create, and share this incredible dish with their loved ones. Because at the end of the day, paella is more than just food—it’s about community, tradition, and coming together.

Mestizo Paella’s BIG REVEAL…

For sometime now, we’ve been trying to figure out what’s next for us… Super excited to announce that we are partnering with .oak to manage + be the preferred caterer for the event space. Aside from operating and managing the events, we will also be utilizing the space to host our paella classes! Big things happening, but excited that this partnership fulfills my desire to get back into events & Christian’s desire to teach classes. Stay tuned for our upcoming events 🥳 btw we’re still catering private events, soo let’s lock in your date before we get booked 🤪

We’ve been getting a lot of requests to come to the South Bay, so here we go!!! On October 22nd, we’ll be doing our very first restaurant pop up at and offering a 4-course prefixed menu with Sangria. Make sure you RSVP, the link is in our bio 😜

We’ve been in talks of doing a collab with for over a year now and we’re excited to be the first guest chef at their new restaurant + work along side of chef .lim and chef
