MoTownCon wants a safe environment for all! A huge piece of this is that Cosplay is NOT consent! Please use some of these basic etiquettes for taking photos or videos of others during the event:

-Always ask before taking a photo (or video) that another cosplayer is in.
-If a cosplayer is clearly taking a break (sitting down, eating, resting, etc.) wait until they finish before approaching them.
- If a cosplayer declines to have their photo taken (or video) then please respect this decision and leave them be without pushing the issue.

Cosplay is meant to be fun and we want to make MoTownCon safe and fun for all!

As a family friendly convention we want to make our stance clear on Smart/Video Recording Glasses.

No Smart or video recording glasses are allowed at MoTownCon. If you are caught wearing them you will have to either leave the event without a refund or you can leave them with our security staff for the entire duration of the event and turn in your pass to retrieve them when you are leaving. There is no second warning with them.

While we understand they can be a fun tool for capturing the world and events around you it does pose a threat to minors and those who do not wish for their photo to be taken by strangers at the convention. Especially as this violates the "Cosplay is NOT consent" we want everyone to respect!

We want to encourage everyone to ask before snapping the photo in case someone is not comfortable.

MoTownCon has our own official photography and videography team that is set up with us and we screen through our posts for safety of all.

We are so excited to share this event with everyone and we will continue to build a safe and family friendly event even as times change!
