Hello everyone...we are getting excited for tonight’s band show and can’t wait to see everyone! This is a rain or shine event, so plan on dressing for weather.
Also, there have been a few questions regarding staff passes. As this is a fundraiser similar to school plays, musicals, and JAMFest, we are not accepting staff passes at the gate. We are hoping to see lots of our wonderful teachers and administrators tonight!

Last but not least, today's featured band is The Jonathan Alder Marching Band! The Jonathan Alder Marching Band is directed by Mr. Justin Hennig, Ms. Jessica Lewis, Mr. Scott Jones, and Ms. Nicole Manring. From their website: ""The Pride of the Pioneers" begins in early August and concludes in Mid-November. The Marching Band preforms at every Varsity Football Game, and several weekend performances and parades! [...] The Marching Band was invited to the televised ABC 6 Dunkin' Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! Today's featured band is the Kenton Ridge High School Marching Cougar Band! Fun fact: our very own band director Mr. Justin Hennig is an alumnus of KR's marching band. If you love JA's Marching Band, you'll love KR! The Kenton Ridge High School Marching Cougar Band has performed at many notable events including Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Mardi Gras Parade in New Orleans. We are thrilled to have the KR Marching Band participate in our band show and look forward to their performance tomorrow night!

Today's featured band is the Buckeye Valley High School Marching Band! Some of our upperclassmen and alumni will remember Buckeye Valley's director Paul Brunner, who taught here at Jonathan Alder. Via their page: "The "Pride of the Barons" is one of Ohio's traditionally outstanding marching bands, consisting of brass, woodwinds, percussion, and color guard.
The Marching Band is the district's most visible instrumental music group, performing during every regular season Varsity football game, in the Delaware All-Horse parade, and at various other events throughout the year. The group consists of students from all four grade levels at Buckeye Valley High School and features brass, woodwind, percussion, and color guard." We look forward to seeing their performance this Saturday night at 7:00pm on Volunteer Field!

Today's featured band is The Ohio State School for the Blind Marching Panthers Band Boosters! From their website: "Mission: To demonstrate the abilities of people with disabilities, serving as a model for visually impaired musicians to participate fully, and as an example to raise expectations of and for those with disabilities.
The Ohio State School for the Blind Marching Band is the only blind marching band in the world. The nationally recognized band is known for their ability to entertain and inspire. The members, in grades 7-12, come from all over the state of Ohio and are guided by community volunteers from various walks of life."
We are thrilled to have them participate in our band show, which takes place this Saturday night in Performance Stadium!

Today's featured marching band is East Knox Bands from East Knox High School! From their website: "The East Knox Marching Band is the top band at East Knox High School. The band consists of wind instruments, percussion instruments, baton, and flag. The band performs at all football games, pep rallies, local parades, and marching band festivals. The show for the 2019 season is titled, "A Night at the Movies". It will feature music from 2001 a Spacy Odyssey, Star Wars, Captain America, and More!" It's band show week, everyone! Each day we'll be showcasing one of our band show participants. We are thrilled to have Olentangy Orange High School's Marching Pioneers join us! From their website: "The Olentangy Orange High School Band performs in a collegiate style and is best described as a show style marching band that incorporates precision drill and dance routines into their performances. During parades, the Orange band not only plays selections from their list of contemporary songs, but also perform a number of drum cadences. Because of their style of performance, the band does not routinely participate in marching band competitions, but rather perform at band festivals, sporting events and parades. In addition to entertaining crowds at Friday night football games, the band has been busy entertaining crowds all around the state this year." We look forward to having them here at JAHS on Saturday night!
