For ceremonies I run a Shure SLX-D wireless lapel. Same wireless platform you'd find in broadcast TV and live theater. The receiver scans 138 MHz of airspace and locks onto the cleanest channel before guests sit. The signal is encrypted, so it can't accidentally pick up another DJ's mic from across the building. Most ceremony audio dropouts I hear about come from a $200 consumer rig handling the part of the day that doesn't get a second take. Mine doesn't.

'Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!' gets the dance floor moving. Same thing with the wireless, computer-programmed foam sticks I run.

Not just strobing randomly like the Amazon special. These flash in unison. Really brings everyone together, gets people fist bumping, having fun on the floor.

I usually play it earlier in the night when I want to pull everyone in at once, not at the late-night peak. Yeah, you hear it at every wedding. There's a reason. It still clears chairs faster than almost anything else in my crate right now.

Year two spinning for Maker's Mark 🥃 This one was the private barrel launch at Vaso Dublin — sold-out night, great crowd, and a brand partnership I'm grateful to keep growing. Vaso has been home for a long time, and getting to bring Maker's Mark into the room with them never gets old.
