Ben and Brooklyn, a delightful Hinge success story! They had a beautiful fall colored wedding last weekend out at the fairytale castle of Ohio: Landoll's Mohican Castle. Their relationship started over a disagreement about which color Starburst was the best and while they still don't agree on the answer to that question, they have come to agree on everything else. But I am certain their future is both as bright as a yellow Starburst and as sweet as a pink Starburst.

I also had the chance to perform for these two excellent humans this past weekend. Chris and Kali met at a stand up comedy show (where he was the star) and they have been laughing and having fun ever since. Mama the dog was also the best flower girl. She was the single happiest dog I have ever met.

I was asked to sneak a Jurassic Park quote into the ceremony and you can be sure I followed through. It turns out that "Clever Girl" is a versatile statement. A little bit more than "Remember, you are alive when they start to eat you, so try to have a little respect" But we had a blast.

And here it is! For my 700th wedding, I had the extraordinary opportunity to work with Adam and Beth. They are two enthusiastic lovers of the Brandon Sanderson Cosmere universe of the Stormlight Archives. So I dressed up like the character, Wit, and both their vows and their lantern lighting unity ceremony were inspired by the series. It was a truly unique writing and performing experience for me, but we had so much fun. As you can see from the pictures, Beth wields a longsword with conviction.

This is a picture of my kids with my grandfather, Ray Kannal. He passed away recently and this past weekend we held a celebration of life for him. I was once again asked to be the writer and speaker for the eulogy which I poured my absolute heart into. At 97 years old, he had lived an eventful life, so there were a ton of highlights and stories to share with everyone. And while I was far from covering everything, we shared moments of laughter and joy despite the sadness. He was a rad dude and I'll miss him, but I think he would have liked what I wrote for him. And hopefully everyone had a chance to process some of their feelings too.

Guys! Seriously. Kassi and Nic made me muffins as a thank you gift. Baked goods will always melt my heart.

Boy, howdy did we have a fun wedding on Saturday. Kassi and Nic met in Missouri and she was so smitten by his all black leather getup on their first date that she bought him a drink. And as you can see in the picture, they still have quite the penchant for style. They surprised their guests by hiding the rings under 2 different seats, so we had 1 thrilled and 1 truly flustered guest. But it was a great time. Raise those chickens you two!

And it's always a pleasure working with . Fantastic work as usual!

One of the joys of celebrating love stories is that they are all different. I've never heard the same story twice and don't imagine I ever will. Some come to life really easily, like water finding its way along a stream. Others require hoops and obstacles to endure in order to create the perfect time or place for people to find each other. There is no right or wrong path, just the one that works. And that's how Sean and Angie found each other: a bumpy road that led them to the right destination. And now they have everything they could have ever wanted in each other. So I helped them tie the knot last weekend at their home (after the Buckeye game, of course) and now they are off on new adventures together.

Escape to the woods! At least that's what Audrie and Jake did. They invited me out to their cabin for an intimate twilight elopement ceremony. It was held on the cabin's back porch overlooking the the "hills" part of Hockihg Hills. 4 wheel drive was required. :)

Sometimes I get a call asking me how soon I could be available and I say I'll see you in 30 minutes. And that's how I met these three cuties. Enjoy that married life!

It was a busy weekend with 3 trips down to Hocking Hills, but one of them was for Zach and Dana! These two met through the joy and passion (or pain and torment) of Tough Mudder competitions, so we had to show off the guns for the wedding pictures. Man, I really love telling love stories. Dana is actually the 2nd child of the Furnas family for whom I have had the pleasure of performing their wedding ceremony. Only 1 left to collect the whole set! Keep it muddy, you two.
