💐 A great day at the 1️⃣8️⃣8️⃣6️⃣ Stafford Opera House!

Following a ceremony at St. Anthony Catholic Church, our newlyweds gathered with family and friends for an intimate reception in the Buddy Rau Room. 💕

Lambertos Brandon House Bistro filled the building with amazing aromas, Frank Sinatra played in the background, 🎶 and the room was full of smiles, laughter, and celebration.

There is something pretty wonderful about seeing new memories made inside a building that has held so many of them over the last 140 years. 🏛️✨

Congratulations to the happy couple! We are honored to be a small part of such a special day. 🥂

🎲✨ We’ve been having such a great time at Monday Game Night at the 1886 Stafford Opera House! We’re back again TONIGHT for more fun! 🤩

Last week, we drew for our monthly door prize! 🎁 A BIG thank you to Kim at Pen And Lens Shop for donating an awesome Mahjong mat and other goodies from her store — check her out! ❤️🀄️

There was just one tiny problem! 😂 Our lucky winner was a serious domino player.

So, in true Game Night fashion, he opened up the bidding to the Mahjong crowd, a happy Mahjong-er went home with a beautiful new mat, and everybody won. 🙌

That’s pretty much how things go around here — good games, good laughs, and even better people. Come claim your table and join us tonight! 🃏

🏛️ Quite the Sunday afternoon at the 1️⃣8️⃣8️⃣6️⃣ Stafford Opera House!

Today, our building served as backdrop for photos 📸 featuring three candidates for the Texas Supreme Court. We enjoyed the honor of welcoming this group and sharing the history and charm of our city. 🌳

🌎 Our location along I-10 brings all sorts of incredible opportunities—travelers from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 noticed the building was open and stopped in to explore amid the shoot!

From planned visits to unexpected discoveries, we love welcoming people to historic Columbus! ✨

🚧 Update from the 1️⃣8️⃣8️⃣6️⃣ Stafford Opera House!

The walls are UP and tile is going IN! Can you believe it?! 🙌

This long-awaited bathroom addition to the Grand Hall performance space may look like a construction zone today, but it represents something much bigger: a stronger future for the Stafford Opera House.

We are standing at such an important moment in the life of this building — preserving its character, improving its functionality, and helping place it on solid footing for the future. 🏛️✨

To every donor, supporter, and friend who helped make the Save Our Opera House campaign possible — thank you. Your generosity has carried this historic building so far, and we are nearly there! ❤️

✨ The stories are coming to life!

Ms. Elvera Kahlich and her wonderful daughter Elizabeth stopped by the 1️⃣8️⃣8️⃣6️⃣ Stafford Opera House yesterday to prep for our 2026 History Forum: Echoes of the Opera House and choose questions that will help bring her incredible memories to life.

Her father, A.W. Willrodt, owned the Stafford Opera House in the 1940s and 1950s, when the upstairs was home to a SKATING RINK! 🛼😲 And apartments, too!

Come hear it firsthand. 🏛️💕
