Just like that, another unforgettable summer at Camp Mary Orton has come to an end.
What feels like just yesterday was actually a summer filled with adventure, laughter, friendship, and growth. As we celebrate the last day of camp, we're grateful for every memory made, every challenge conquered, and every smile shared along the way.

Thank you to our campers, families, staff, and volunteers for making this season so special. A big thank you to all who donated and supported 45 campers through Camperships. Thank You to The Columbus Foundation for your continued support, as well as Columbus City Council, and Gifts for Good.

We'll be holding onto these memories until we do it all again next year!

Family Night at Camp is one of our favorite traditions of the summer!
After hearing the stories all week, families get the chance to experience camp for themselves—exploring the trails, joining in activities, meeting counselors, and seeing firsthand all of the fun, learning, and friendships their children have been enjoying.
From outdoor adventures to campfire memories, Family Night offers a glimpse into the confidence, independence, and joy that camp helps create each day. Seeing campers proudly show their families around and share their favorite experiences is what makes the evening so special.

Halfway Through Summer, and the Memories Keep Growing!

We’re officially halfway through the summer camp season at Camp Mary Orton, and what a summer it has been!
From outdoor adventures and creative projects to team challenges, new friendships, and plenty of time spent exploring the great outdoors, our campers have been making the most of every moment. Each day brings new opportunities to learn, laugh, build confidence, and try something new.
As we look back on the first half of the season, we’re grateful for the campers, families, staff, and supporters who make these experiences possible. The smiles, discoveries, and connections happening every day remind us why camp matters.
Here’s to the memories already made—and all the adventures still ahead.

This team challenge had campers balancing, communicating, and laughing their way through the activity. It took focus, teamwork, and sometimes laying down to make it work!
Sometimes the best camp lessons happen when you're having so much fun you don't even realize you're learning.

CMO counselors are already putting in the work to make this summer unforgettable!
Our Adventure Academy and Discovery Day Camp teams have officially completed the first week of training and are building skills in adventure activities, team-building, games, and group management to ensure every camper has a fun, safe, and supportive experience.
But this training is about more than just planning great activities. It’s about preparing to create a space where young people can grow in confidence, build relationships, and discover what they’re capable of, which is core to our mission of helping individuals reach their next step.
We can’t wait to welcome campers this summer and watch those next steps begin at Camp Mary Orton .
